‘Implement central service rules in aided colleges'
Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Aided Colleges Teachers' Association (CACTA) has urged Union minister
Amit Shah
to ensure immediate implementation of Central Service Rules and UGC norms in the city's grant-in-aid colleges.
MHA had notified the adoption of central service conditions for UT employees from April 1, 2022. However, the association said no service policy has been framed for aided colleges in over three years. It said the delay has caused uncertainty among teaching and non-teaching staff and could affect the functioning of institutions that have been part of Chandigarh's academic and sporting history.
CACTA secretary Amitabh Dwivedi said the colleges have produced sports personalities such as Kapil Dev, Neeraj Chopra, Manu Bhaker, and Sarabjot Singh, but their faculties still await service conditions already approved for the UT.
The association highlighted pending issues including Career Advancement Scheme promotions since 2016.
