Centre hikes central deputation allowance for certain category of officers
The Centre has increased central deputation allowance for certain categories of officers, according to a Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) order. The revised rates of Central Secretariat (Deputation on Tenure) Allowance (CDTA) are admissible to the officers of all India services and organised Group A central services on their appointment as Under Secretary, Deputy Secretary and Director in the central secretariat under the Central Staffing Scheme, the order issued on Wednesday said. At present, during their tenure as Under Secretary, Deputy Secretary, or Director, the officers are paid CDTA at the rate of 10 per cent of their basic pay, subject to a ceiling of Rs 9,000. "In consideration of references received from various ministries/departments and after due consultation with Department of Expenditure, it has been decided that the ceiling will further rise by 25 per cent each time Dearness Allowance increases by 50 per cent," the DoPT said.

Naval Kishore Ram is new PMC chief
Pune: Naval Kishore Ram , former district collector of Pune, has been appointed the new commissioner and administrator of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). State govt announced his appointment on Wednesday. Ram will take over from Rajendra Bhosale who is set to retire on May 31. He previously served as deputy secretary in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) after being transferred from his district collector position in 2020. The 2008-batch IAS officer, Ram was at the helm of affairs to address the Covid-19 pandemic in Pune district and was selected under the Central Staffing Scheme. He joined as Pune collector in April 2018 and was in charge of both general and state assembly elections in Pune in 2019. Before coming to Pune, Ram served as collector of Aurangabad and Beed districts. Meanwhile, Bhosale took over charge as PMC commissioner in March 2024. Before that, he was district collector of Mumbai suburban. His previous posts include chief executive officer of Sangli zilla parishad and district collector of Solapur and Ahmednagar districts.
