Waterford gardaí seize vehicles in May bank holiday ‘day of action'
Tramore and Dungarvan gardaí carried out a day of action on Monday as part of its May bank holiday safety campaign, covering many areas including Kilmeaden and Ballykinsella.
Several road traffic offences were detected, including suspected drink driving, several vehicles with no tax and no DOE, now known as a Certificate of Road Worthiness (CRW). Seven vehicles were seized and one driver was detected speeding at 131km in a 80km zone. A prosecution is to follow, said a garda spokesperson.
On Thursday, May 1, Tramore Gardaí detected a driver travelling at 94kmh in 60km zone at 5am. It also transpired that the vehicle had not been taxed since July, 2023. 'Prosecution to follow,' added a spokesperson.
On Wednesday, April 30, gardaí in Dungarvan appealed for witnesses to a theft from a vehicle at An Rinn on the preceding April 23, in the afternoon. A Hilti Laser Measuring tape device which was red and black in colour was taken from a parked vehicle. Anyone with information are asked to contact Dungarvan gardaí at 058 48600.
