Family of five including three young children found dead in 'murder-suicide' at enormous Oregon compound
A family of five, including three young children, have been found dead in a murder-suicide at an Oregon compound, according to police.
The bodies were found on Monday when police went to the home, on a nine-acre compound, after Hannah Marie Behee, 42, failed to show up to work.
Officials said Behee and her children - Grayson, 11, Nora, 7, and Trenton, 9 - were shot dead by her husband Chad Behee, 40.
Investigators noted there were suspicious conditions around the property but did not provide further details.
A motive for the killings remains unclear.
Oregon Live reported that the suspected killer had a troubled youth and had made repeated suicide attempts.
Hannah's family and friends took to Facebook to express regret that they could not help prevent the tragedy.
'I am Hannah's cousin and I am attempting to raise funds to help the family with funeral cost associated with a tragic incident that recently happened,' wrote Windy Carter.
My heart is broken and I wish we could have done something to prevent this. Regretting all the times we didn't let the kids come over to play.'
The family's relatives set up a GoFundMe account to collect funds for funeral costs for Hannah and the children.
The page's description read: 'This devastating loss has left their family and friends in deep sorrow. Hannah was a loving mother, and her children were full of life and promise.'
A probe into the family's deaths is ongoing.
The Josephine County Sheriff's Office said they are working with the Grants Pass Police Department to investigate the deaths.
Police asked that anyone with information contact them at 800-442-0776.
The tragedy comes after another mother and her three young children were found dead in Cornelius, Oregon, in April.
Police have only said that Hong Phuong Le, 37, her two young daughters and son died by homicide, but provided no cause of death.
