Tandridge council launches neighbourhood plan consultation
A Surrey council has launched a six-week consultation into a revised neighbourhood plan. Tandridge District Council unveiled the revised Caterham, Chaldon and Whyteleafe Neighbourhood Plan (CCWNP) in July. It includes proposals for housing development, reducing flood risks, safeguarding green spaces and supporting businesses. Residents and interested parties have until 23:59 BST on Sunday 21 September to respond to the consultation.
The current CCWNP passed a public vote in May 2021 and is made up of local proposals from four local parishes: Caterham-on-the-Hill, WhyteLeafe, Caterham Valley and Chaldon parishes. This latest revision raises several challenges for the area including a need for further education provision as the population increases, greater access to affordable family housing, prioritising healthcare access for residents and a need for more public car parking. The plan can be viewed in full online and at council offices in Oxted, or at Caterham on the Hill and Caterham Valley the consultation, an independent examiner will consider the plan, and if approved it will go to a public vote next year.
