The war of the boy bands may come to the golf course.
Lance Bass
, the American singer who rose to fame as the bass singer for the boy band NSYNC, reports he's ready to play host to a golf showdown between NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys.
This comes after a challenge from Backstreet Boys' Brian Littrell and Nick Carter set the fan world abuzz—and potentially network cameras rolling.
Lance Bass says 'Bring it!' for a Backstreet Boys' golf challenge
Just days after Littrell and Carter explained to TMZ Sports they were looking to tee up against their 1990s chart competitors, Bass replied with an energetic, "Of course. Bring it!" while out in Los Angeles this week. The possible showdown could bring back one of pop culture's most enjoyable rivalries—this time trading microphones for golf clubs.

While Lance Bass might not have a reputation as a golfing ace—joking, 'I'm incredible at golf,' with clear sarcasm—he's game for the challenge. He even poked fun at Joey Fatone, facetiously naming him NSYNC's 'best player,' despite knowing Fatone's golf skills may not intimidate the competition.

More on the competitive side, Justin Timberlake has a smooth swing, and Brian Littrell says he is able to play a good round as well, so the competition becomes more than a novelty contest.

Interest has been building rapidly. Bryan Zuriff, who developed the celebrity competition, spoke to TMZ last week about how he's already looking into making the boy band golf battle a reality. The concept can be a charity-based, fun-filled sporting event.
Bass hinted that he is willing to team up with Zuriff and make the bout a worthy cause, in much the same way as NSYNC's previous 'challenge for the children' basketball matches, which consistently raised funds for charity when they were at their peak.
"I think that would be really fun," the 46-year-old said. "We used to have Challenge For The Children, which was a basketball game that we used to do for charity all the time."

If it all holds together, this could be more than nostalgia—it could be one of the most fun celebrity sporting events on record. Whether it's birdies or bogeys, the Backstreet Boys vs. NSYNC golf challenge would be a must-see for fans who knew their childhoods by their songs — and a new reason to argue which boy band reigns supreme.
