Amazon's 'Gen V' Season 2 Brings Superhero Action Back To School This Sep
The young superheroes of Gen V will soon re-enrol in Godolkin University, as Amazon has firmed up the release date for Season 2. As teased in a new trailer, the sophomore entry is set to feature several returning characters amid a gory blood mist when its first three episodes hit Prime Video on 17 September. Jaz Sinclair's Marie Moreau is at the front and centre of the action, leading a bloody rebellion with the help of her classmates. Joining the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star are Lizze Broadway as Emma, Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap, London Thor and Derek Luh as Jordan Li, Asa Germann as Sam Riordan, and Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity, all of whom reprise their roles from the first season. Hamish Linklater of Midnight Mass fame is a new addition to the roster, making his debut as 'the charismatic and charming newly-appointed' Dean Cipher. The real-life death of actor Chance Perdomo, who played Andre in The Boys spin-off series, was also addressed in the trailer, following the team's decision to continue with the show without recasting his character. 'As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander's iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new Dean preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever,' reads the official synopsis for Gen V Season 2 . 'Cate and Sam are celebrated heroes, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma reluctantly return to college, burdened by months of trauma and loss. But parties and classes are hard to care about with war brewing between Humans and Supes, both on and off campus. The gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have larger implications than they realise. And, somehow, Marie is a part of it.' The college-set series was co-created by Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, with the former also serving as showrunner and executive producer alongside The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, The Boys comic book creators Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, Michaela Starr, Ori Marmur, Thomas Schnauz, Steve Boyum, and Brant Engelstein. Season 2 of Gen V kicks off on 17 September and will air its season finale on 22 October.
