Prime locations in Yadgir come under CCTV camera surveillance

Vehicular drivers should now think twice before violating traffic rules knowingly or unknowingly while driving vehicles as prime locations in Yadgir city have come under Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) camera surveillance. As many as 84 CCTV cameras have been installed at prime locations, including traffic circles, bus terminus, near railway stations, Deputy Commissioner's office and highways which pass through the city to catch activities against the law, including traffic rule violations. MLA Channareddy Patil Tunnur, who inaugurated the CCTV camera operations on Saturday, also set up a control room in the Town Police Station in the old city. 'The installation of 84 CCTV cameras was carried out at a cost of ₹70.70 lakh, which includes ₹53.30 lakh from the MLA's Local Area Development Fund and ₹17.40 lakh from the district in-charge Minister's grant,' Mr. Tunnur said, after the inauguration and appealed to citizens to obey traffic rules. The city is now seeing extensive development. Business establishments, schools, colleges and bankers have established their branches, while thousands of people are visiting the district headquarters every day for their routine work. And, the requirement of CCTV cameras in public places has been on par with the development of the city, for a long time. 'CCTV cameras not only help catch traffic rule violators but also assist the police to check crime and arrest criminals involved in such incidents,' Superintendent of Police Pruthvik Shankar said and added that notice will be issued against the traffic rule violators based on visuals captured in the CCTV cameras. Every technology is now modified with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) advancements. 'These cameras are also made with advanced AI technology and it will help bring technical discipline in the system and also among the public,' Deputy Commissioner Harshal Bhoyar said. Praising the initiative, CMC chairperson Lalita Anapur requested Mr. Tunnur to release more grants under the MLA Local Area Development Fund to install CCTV cameras at entrances of thickly populated localities and also inside areas within CMC limits to prevent illegal activities. Additional Superintendent of Police Dharanesh, Deputy Superintendent of Police Javeed Inamdar, Circle Inspectors of Police Sunil Kumar Mulimani, Umesh, Vijay Kumar, S.M. Patil, Sharanagouda Nyamannavar, Veeranna Doddamani, Sridevi Biradar, Sub-Inspector of Police Manjanagouda Patil, Bheemaraya Bankali, Maheboob Ali, Hanumanth Bankali and others were present.

State govt. will plant 11.50 crore saplings, says Minister

Minister for Forest, Ecology, and Environment Eshwar Khandre has said that the State government has drawn up plans to plant 11.50 crore saplings and protect them to ensure more green coverage. Inaugurating a Vanamahotsava program at the auditorium of the district administrative building in Yadgir on Monday, he expressed concern over growing pollution. The Minister said that reduction of forest areas by cutting down trees will adversely impact not only human beings but also wild animals. 'The State government will plant over three crore saplings during this year. Of them, four lakh saplings will be planted in Yadgir district alone. The Forest Department will protect the saplings after planting them,' he said. The Minister advised creating awareness among children about planting trees and protecting them in order to increase green coverage. 'Using plastic-made bags should compulsorily be banned and people should be encouraged to use cloth-made bags for their routine work or to bring milk, fruits and vegetables,' he added. MLA Channareddy Patil Tunnur, who presided over the programme, appealed to the general public to join hands with the State government which is spending crores of rupees to increase green coverage by planting more saplings every year. Minister for Small Scale Industries Sharanabasappa Darshanapur, MLA Raja Venugopal Naik, Sharanagouda Kandkur, CMC Chairman Lalita Anpur, Deputy Commissioner Harshal Boyar, Superintendent of Police Pruthvik Shankar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Ramesh Kolar, Deputy Conservator of Forest Sumit Kumar Patil, Assistant Conservator of Forest Mohammad Asad and others were present.

MLA inaugurates water plants in Yadgir

Yadgir MLA Channareddy Patil Tunnur has said that action will be taken to establish reverse osmosis plants in wards under City Municipal Council limits in a phased manner. He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating reverse osmosis plants at Matamanikyashwari Colony and Aziz Colony in the city on Monday. 'Each such plant has come up at a cost of ₹13.95 lakh which was released under Micro Project by the Kalyan Karnataka Regional Development Board (KKRDB). The State government has taken steps to mitigate drinking water crisis in the city. The authorities concerned should maintain the water plant properly and provide potable water to the people,' Mr. Tunnur said. CMC Chairperson Kumari Lalita Anpur, Vice-Chairperson Rukiya Begam, corporators Swamidev Dasankeri and Ganesh Duppalli and others were present.
