Zendaya Fronts Louis Vuitton × Murakami's Chapter Three Collection as a Cinematic Riviera Siren
Louis Vuitton unveiled its final Louis Vuitton × Murakami Chapter Three campaign on Friday, featuring new images of House Ambassador Zendaya, photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. Set against sweeping Mediterranean Riviera backdrops, the visuals mark the global launch of the collaboration's final installment on May 22. Chapter Three brings together more than 70 creations — bags, luggage, summer footwear, silk squares, bag charms and even a Cherry‑accented bicycle — all united by Takashi Murakami's instantly recognizable smiling Cherry motif. Executed through advanced multi‑step serigraphy, 3D printing and artisanal applications, the candy‑colored cherries sit on top of a crisp white Monogram canvas and the classic brown Monogram, offering contrasting stages for the motif's lush green stalk and glossy finish. The white‑base Monogram introduces a fresh canvas for the motif, while the brown Monogram reprises its role, punctuated by vibrant new embellishments. For the first time, the Cherry 3D heel appears on two footwear styles: the Cherie raffia mule, trimmed with a Monogram bow and sculptural cherries, and the Lily cherry‑embroidered denim shoe. Other reopened favorites include Monogram‑denim Romy ballerinas, Maya platform sandals and Cherry‑embroidered white sneakers, mules and Bom Dia sandals. Silk squares adorned with delicate Cherry clusters offer versatility, while bag charms, keychains and sticker sheets extend the motif's playful reach. Once again styled by Law Roach with hair by Ursula Stephen and makeup by Ernesto Casillas, Zendaya's towering presence among oversized Cherry installations conveys the collection's playful, celebratory tone. Chapter Three concludes the re‑edition journey that first relaunched Murakami's Superflat multicolour Monogram in early 2025, reinforcing the original 2003 collaboration's lasting resonance in contemporary fashion. Available worldwide on May 22, Louis Vuitton × Murakami Chapter Three merges haute‑art fantasy with the House's artisanal savoir‑faire, offering a summery finale that honors two decades of creative partnership. Louis Vuitton and Takashi Murakami rekindle their magic with a cherry-studded collection
The Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami's collaboration is one of the most iconic marriage of fashion and art in history. Two decades after Takashi Murakami first reimagined the iconic monogram with his rainbow-infused, pop-art flair, the collaboration remains as irresistible as ever. Marking 20 years since their groundbreaking 2003 debut, the third anniversary drop has arrived—and it's a deliciously cherry-studded affair, starring house ambassador and muse Zendaya. Dubbed Chapter Three, the latest capsule revives one of Murakami's most playful motifs: the grinning, candy-hued cherries. Following this year's rainbow monogram and sakura revivals, the collection breathes new life into the maison's classics – Speedy, Alma, and Side Trunk, now reworked in glossy white Monogram canvas with 3D-printed cherry embellishments. For collectors, the Capucines range is the real treasure, hiding metallic cherry charms and subtle icons in zips and fastenings, details only the most eagle-eyed fans will spot. A denim capsule, featuring embroidered cherries on the Pochette Accessoires and Keepall 45, adds a playful twist, while whimsical extras like a fan and foldable deck chair lean into Murakami's signature irreverence. Accessories dial up the fun: raffia mules with cherry-shaped heels, embroidered sneakers, and silk scarves that double as wearable art complete the fantasy. It's a masterclass in high fashion meets high-spirited nostalgia. After a pre-launch online on today May 16, the collection lands in stores on May 22. Discover the Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami Chapter Three collection here: This cherry-studded drop follows Murakami's earlier 2024 revivals – February's vibrant rainbow monogram comeback and April's dreamy sakura reissue – proving the designer-artist duo still knows how to make collectors swoon. Each iteration builds on their 20-year alchemy of subverting luxury codes with Murakami's irreverent pop-art flair, transforming LV's heritage pieces into wearable joy. – For more on luxury lifestyle, news, fashion and beauty follow Emirates Woman on Facebook and Instagram Images & Feature Image: Instagram and X

Legal hammer drops on manslaughter, debt fraud
KUWAIT CITY, May 11: A significant overhaul of Kuwait's Penal Code has been officially enacted through Decree-Law No. 65 of 2025, published in the Kuwait Alyomr. The amendments, which introduce new articles and revise existing ones, were approved by the Council of Ministers on April 22, signaling a comprehensive legislative effort to enhance justice, public safety, and economic integrity. The accompanying explanatory memorandum underscores the pivotal role of criminal penalties in maintaining the rule of law. 'Punishment is essential for law to function as more than moral guidance,' the memorandum states. It affirms that penalties must be sufficiently deterrent to dissuade individuals from wrongdoing and to ensure justice is served when violations occur. Strengthening Laws on Manslaughter and Accidental Injury The first major area of reform concerns crimes of manslaughter and unintentional injury. Notably, these provisions had remained unchanged since the Penal Code's inception in 1960. Recognizing the changing societal landscape and an increase in negligence-related incidents, lawmakers opted to modernize the law to better address contemporary realities. Key amendments include an increase in the maximum fines stipulated in Articles 154 and 164, as well as the explicit inclusion of legal violations as a form of criminal negligence. To avoid legal ambiguity, Article 44 was also amended to reinforce this interpretation. Two new articles—154 bis and 164 bis—introduce aggravating circumstances that can lead to enhanced penalties for manslaughter or accidental injury. These circumstances are categorized into three groups: Seriousness of the Offender's Error: This includes cases where the offender was under the influence of intoxicants or psychotropic substances during the incident, thereby impairing judgment. It also covers scenarios where the offender willfully failed to assist the victim after the incident, an act deemed a second, compounding fault.n Severity of the Outcome: Penalties are intensified if the crime results in multiple fatalities, injuries to two or more individuals, or causes permanent disability.n Combination of Circumstances: If multiple aggravating factors from the above categories are present, the law permits harsher sentencing to reflect the compounded gravity of the offense.n Crackdown on Debtors Who Evade Payment In a separate but equally critical reform, the decree introduces new legal provisions targeting fraudulent debt evasion. A new section under Chapter Three of the Penal Code—Articles 283 to 286—specifically criminalizes deliberate attempts by debtors to misrepresent their financial standing to escape legal repayment obligations. These articles aim to protect Kuwait's financial system from individuals who falsely claim insolvency or manipulate assets to avoid settling legally enforceable debts. Key points of the reform include: Asset Manipulation: Debtors who sell or transfer assets at prices far below market value with the intent of avoiding debt repayment may now face criminal charges.n Third-Party Involvement: Individuals who knowingly accept such assets—including spouses and family members—may also be held liable, unless they fall under legal exceptions such as guardianship or trusteeship.n Legal Protections and Prosecution: The law mandates the Public Prosecution to investigate and pursue these cases, while also laying out protocols for debt settlement, reconciliation, and creditor pardons.n A Measured Step Forward This legislative package, the government says, is designed to uphold the dual principles of justice and social stability. It sends a clear message that neither reckless behavior that endangers lives nor financial deceit will be tolerated. The law is also mindful of individual rights, seeking to balance societal protection with personal freedoms. It ensures that due process is followed, while clarifying legal responsibilities and closing loopholes that have previously hindered enforcement. Following Article 178 of the Constitution, the new amendments will come into effect one month after their official publication. Authorities have begun public awareness campaigns to educate citizens and residents about the changes, ensuring that both legal professionals and the public are prepared for the implementation of these critical reforms.
