IICO concludes ‘Message Teacher' project in Taiz

KUWAIT: The International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO) announced the successful conclusion of the 'Message Teacher' project, which was carried out over a four-month period in Yemen's Taiz Governorate at a cost of approximately $45,000 (around KD 13,000). In a press statement issued on Monday, the organization said the initiative benefited 100 teachers working in Quranic education, aiming to empower them as influential role models capable of nurturing a conscious and active generation rooted in Quranic values.
Implemented in collaboration with the Jannat Development Foundation, the project sought to enhance the quality of Quranic education by addressing limitations in traditional teaching methods that emphasize memorization without reinforcing the Quran's objectives in thought and behavior.
Teachers participating in the project were honored.
According to the statement, the initiative contributed to raising both cognitive and professional competencies among teachers. It also included the development of specialized training content, educational programs focused on Quranic reflection, and frameworks for constructing meaningful learning outcomes. As part of the project, eight integrated training packages were prepared, alongside eight qualification workshops. Additionally, 10 applied programs were financed and implemented directly by participating trainees within their Quranic learning circles, presenting a model that reinstates the teacher's pivotal missionary role in education. — KUNA
