She said: 'It's my husband's own story to tell, so I won't go into detail, but he suffers with his mental health, 'And we've just been through a really bad period where, bless him, he had Lyme Disease and then he had viral meningitis. Lots of things happened recently.' The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.

The presenter, 48, who opened up about Charlie's devastating health battle last year, walked hand-in-hand with her man as they left the swanky venue. For the occasion, Alex turned heads in a blue strapless gown adorned with dark blue floral detailing and a chiffon skirt. Earlier in the evening, Alex made sure all eyes were on her as she posed up a storm for the cameras. The renowned Summer Exhibition is a glamorous evening of Champagne and canapés in the beautiful surroundings of the Royal Academy. The purpose of the exhibition, which was set up in 1768, is to raise funds to support the Royal Academy Schools, Britain's first art school. Individual tickets cost £525 and earns you entry to the party, a programme, bubbly and nibbles and 2025 Exhibition List of Works & Price Guide. A VIP ticket, costing £850, comes with a special listing in the preview programme, early access to view artworks and the first opportunity to buy works. These guests are also granted access to exclusive VIP Reception in the Royal Academy's Fine Rooms. The event comes after Alex candidly opened up about her husband Charlie's harrowing health ordeal. Last year, she divulged that Charlie had experienced a 'rough period' throughout 2023. The pair married in 2015, and they have three children together, Teddy, Kit and Annie. Speaking on Gabby Logan's podcast ' The MidPoint ' last year, the star admitted to seeing her husband 'fall apart' after battling Lyme Disease and viral meningitis. During her conversation Alex reported that Charlie is 'in a much better place now'. Explaining her motivation, she said: 'I think what drives me is the fact that we have got three young children, and I feel, for them, I need to do the best to preserve myself. She continued: 'Mum and dad have always been healthy, growing up we've always eaten a balanced diet, but more so, Charlie and I are focused on that. 'He also wasn't very well last year,' she mentioned, prompting Gabby to inquire: 'How is he now?' Alex replied: 'He's good, yes. He's in a way better place now to where we were a year ago but diet has played a huge part in that. We always eat relatively well but he's quite into nutrition.' She explained: 'I think it was a way for him as well to fill his days in a sense when he wasn't feeling well. And he decided to take on this kind of role, right, well, we've got the medication, but I'm going to see what else I can do to help myself. 'He used to be a chef so cooking and food is very much something he loves and it brings him a lot of joy. 'I'm very lucky he cooks most meals, but I do say it's the glory job because nobody says, 'you stacked that dishwasher so well,' so he does all the cooking but we eat really well. 'Lots of pulses, lots of greens, lots of vegetables, and this thing that was news to me that five to 10 a day isn't enough, it's the variety, eat the rainbow, I say it on a loop to my children.' While Alex did not specify her husband's mental health struggles, she did touch upon them on the How To Fail Podcast, revealing that her husband had 'gone downhill fast mentally'. 'It's my husband's own story to tell, so I won't go into detail, but he suffers with his mental health and we've just been through a really bad period where, bless him, he had Lyme Disease and then he had viral meningitis.

The One Show's Alex Jones forced to rush daughter Annie, two, to A&E AGAIN just weeks after the tot broke her elbow

Alex Jones has revealed she was forced to rush daughter Annie to A&E on Sunday, just weeks after the tot broke her elbow. The One Show host, 48, who also shares sons Teddy, six, Kit, four, with husband Charlie Thomson, took to her Instagram Stories with the news. While sat on the bed with two-year-old Annie, Alex wrote: 'My View. Poor Annie had a fall. Nothing serious but she is wiped out bless her after a very long day'. It comes just weeks Alex shared how poor Annie had been left with a 'clean break' to her elbow after re-enacting Gladiators with her older brothers. Recalling her 'b****y awful week' to co-host Harry Judd on their Binge! podcast she said: 'They got on an arm each, clashed in the middle, and somehow Kit fell against Annie's elbow. And you know when you just know, because the cry is different?' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. In January Alex was was forced to miss The One Show after son Kit was rushed to hospital, but she did not give any further details of his condition. The broadcaster took to Instagram and shared a photo of her son in a hospital bed with his face hidden while he was being cared for a nurse. Alongside it, she wrote: 'Never gets any easier but made so much better thanks to the amazingly kind and gentle staff.' The star never disclosed what her son needed medical attention for but did confirm with fans later that he was alright. Sharing a photo of herself, she wrote: 'Such a relief that it's done! Needless to say, I won't be on @bbctheoneshow later but @laurenlaverne and @gabbylogan will look after you x.' Alex was replaced on the episode by Gabby Logan who co-hosted with Lauren Laverne. Late last year, Alex took a brief absence from The One Show to move house. The broadcaster revealed she has re-located out of London after living in the same house for 11 years. After her initial announcement in July, Alex shared that her and Charlie had decided they wanted a different environment for their children to grow up in. Keeping her fans up to date on her move, she admitted in an Instagram video in July that it was an 'emotional' time for her as she prepared to leave her former home. This was emotional. After 11 years, we are MOVING HOUSE. Would love any packing tips you have??,' she captioned the clip, seeking her fans' advice. Speaking the camera, she shared: 'So here's a bit of news: we're moving home! Aggggh! I'm finding it a little bit emotional.' The presenter then showed off countless piles of boxes and went through sentimental bits such as a baby book and a children's memory box. Taking a trip down the memory lane she grabbed another huge box and said: 'This one is a mammoth. It's a children's art work. And there's tons of it. Alex then displayed items she was giving away including a fluffy beanie and then brought out a party box. As the presenter took over the gruelling packing task - she admitted candidly: 'I don't know myself. For the first time in my life I don't know where my things are.'
