RUST TO RUST For something unique, there's even a retro motorhome that's ready to be fixed up before it takes on new adventures CLASSIC car enthusiasts are in for a rare opportunity as a treasure trove of dust-covered vehicles including Jaguars, rare MGs and other iconic motors hidden away in a barn for decades, are set to go under the hammer. A lifetime collection of classic cars, motorbikes, spare parts and tools belonging to a professional mechanic is to be auctioned off next month - with some of them expected to sell for up to £80,000. 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 Among the collection, which is to be sold by auction house Charterhouse Auctioneers, is six MGAs, including a seldom-seen MGA Coupe Twin Cam - described as a rare find that needs a complete restoration after 30 years in storage. Other standout models include a 1967 Jaguar E-Type Roadster, once described by rival Enzo Ferrari as 'the most beautiful car ever made', as well as an 1956 Jaguar XK140 Roadster, Austin-Healey Lenham 100-4 and, bizarrely, a 2003 VW Golf R32. Jaguar enthusiasts will also find three Mk II 3.8 MOD saloon cars, all complete but covered in dust after years of storage. Other highlights include an Austin Healey 3000, owned since 1969 with high-standard bodywork needing finishing. Fans of iconic sports cars may also fancy a bid on a 1972 Lotus Elan S4, a project car owned for 35 years, or a 1975 Triumph Stag, last driven into storage nearly 20 years ago. For something unique, there's even a 1984 Talbot Auto-Trail Apache Motorhome, ready to be fixed up before it embarks on new adventures. The auction, set to take place on Wednesday, September 10, at the Charterhouse Long Street Salerooms in Sherborne, Dorset, will come after an official viewing to be held at the property near Dorchester on Monday, September 8 and Tuesday, September 9. The collection in total includes over 20 vehicles, two motorbikes and an extensive assortment of spare parts and restoration tools. The listing describes the vehicles as ranging from rare, complete originals to partially restored cars and those needing full restoration. Those keen to kid can turn up, register and bid at the auction salerooms, or name their price over the telephone, which is an available option for those unable to attend. £50m supercar collection for sale after icon's death - including rare classic Online bidding is also available for those participating remotely. A Charterhouse spokesperson said: "The owner, who is no longer able to look after and continue to restore his beloved vehicles, is offering his cars, spares, workshop and other tools, in the Charterhouse auction on Wednesday, September 10, with plenty of projects to choose from." This comes as a luxury Range Rover once driven by the late Queen Elizabeth II is set to go under the hammer – complete with its royal mascot and bespoke security features. The 2006 L322 model was exclusively used by Her Majesty between 2006 and 2008. And it's expected to fetch up to £70,000 when it goes on sale at the Silverstone Festival on August 23. The monarch famously took the wheel at events including the 2007 Royal Windsor Horse Show, with the vehicle specially kitted out for royal duties. It boasts enhanced internal wiring for security and communications, bespoke side steps, mud flaps, and even a made-to-measure dog guard – a nod to the Queen's lifelong love of dogs.

A large number of commemorative coins, including Lord of the Rings, London 2012 Olympic Games and Queen Elizabeth II sets, has been sold at privately-owned collection from Horsham, West Sussex, fetched just over £4,000 in the sale at Charterhouse Auctioneers, Dorset, on collection, which had been expected to sell for £3,000, included a variety of silver and cupro-nickel Richard Bromell described coins as "a wonderful thing to accumulate". He said: "Everyone collects something - it might not be commemorative coins, but most people have a passion for something."We are all custodians of our collection, which we enjoy for as long as we can before passing it on." A large collection of modern commemorative coins are set to sell for more than £3,000. The privately owned collection from a deceased estate in Horsham, West Sussex will be sold at auction by Charterhouse Auctioneers, in Sherborne, Dorset, later this collection includes a large variety of silver and cupronickel coins ranging from year-proof coins sets to Lord of the Rings commemorative Richard Bromell said: "This coin collection is very special and attractive because of its link to history." This collection comes with plastic protective cases, boxes and associated paperwork and will be on sale on Thursday 27 Royal Mint has been issuing annual sets since Bromell explained that "everyone collects something, it might not be commemorative coins but most people have a passion for something".The auctioneer said he has seen people collect "far more unusual things than coins" and one of his clients liked to collect combine harvesters."We've even sold a collection of motorbikes which came all the way from Japan," he said. "We are all custodians of our collection, which we enjoy for as long as we can before passing it on," he said."Coins are easy to collect, quite simple to look after and don't take up much space."They are a wonderful thing to accumulate."
