He totaled 55 strikeouts and a 1.29 ERA in 42.0 innings with the Lookouts. Burns' (6-1) last game with Chattanooga was June 8 against Knoxville at Covenant Health Park. He started for the Lookouts in his return to Knoxville. Burns pitched a complete game (seven innings) and recorded six strikeouts against the Smokies. He totaled 80 pitches, including 60 strikes, against 24 batters. The former Vol allowed three hits, zero runs and zero walks. He played for Tennessee from 2022-23 before transferring to Wake Forest in 2024, and was selected No. 2 overall in the first round of the 2024 MLB draft by Cincinnati.
