Judge conducts inspection of boys and girls shelter homes
1 2 Kanpur: District judge Kanpur Nagar, Chavan Prakash on Wednesday conducted a surprise inspection of Government Children Home for Girls Unit-1 Swaroop Nagar, Government Children Home for Girls Unit-2 Nawabganj Khewra, and Government Children Home for Boys Kalyanpur in Kanpur Nagar. The inspections were conducted in compliance with the directions given by the juvenile justice committee of Allahabad high court. Some girls at the Girls Home Unit-1 requested to be sent to their parents' house. The in-charge superintendent informed the district judge that the parents of these girls were not willing to take them home. In response, the district judge instructed the additional district magistrate (Judicial), present during the inspection, to take appropriate action by contacting the parents of the girls and counselling them, so that they could be returned to their homes. During the inspection of Government Children Home Girls Unit-2, the institution was found to be adequately clean. When asked about the food, the superintendent stated that the girls were provided with sweet porridge and tea for breakfast and roti, rice, potato-gram mixed vegetable, arhar dal, and salad for lunch. The district judge observed that there was no yoga teacher in any of the three shelter homes. The ADM (Judicial) was directed to communicate with the relevant authorities and arrange for a regular yoga teacher to be associated with the institutions. Additionally, the district judge issued instructions for all units to consistently maintain cleanliness and ensure timely doctor visits by corresponding with the concerned authorities. Additional district judge/secretary Kamlesh Kumar Maurya and additional district magistrate (Judicial) Chandrashekhar were present during the inspection.

Open gym launched at dist jail
1 2 Kanpur: District judge Kanpur Nagar Chavan Prakash inaugurated an open gym for the inmates in district jail on Thursday. District judge and district magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh, in compliance of Apex court's direction and directions of National Legal Services Authority, jointly visited the jail under their quarterly inspection. Prakash directed the jail superintendent and secretary of district legal services authority to take necessary action in the concerned court regarding the release of under trial prisoners who have been granted bail and are lodged in the district jail. During the inspection, the hospital, canteen, male and female barracks, and works related to rehabilitation of prisoners were seen. The district judge and DM took information about the patients admitted in the hospital. They also directed the legal aid defence council to facilitate the bail of needy prisoners. The jail superintendent was directed to ensure that the standards of food safety and hygiene are followed in the canteen. The basic education officer was directed to take necessary action to ensure the education of children living with female prisoners. Singh specially observed 'dupattas' (scarves) being made by the prisoners. Additional district judge/secretary DLSA Kamlesh Kumar Maurya, chief judicial magistrate Suraj Mishra, judicial magistrate Manisha Gupta, DCP east Satyajit Gupta, Shilpi Singh district social welfare officer, basic shiksha adhikari Surjit Kumar and jail officers & others were present. Dist judge inspects govt shelter homes, issues orders for changes
Kanpur: In accordance with the directives given by the Juvenile Justice Committee of the Allahabad high court, district judge of Kanpur Nagar, Chavan Prakash, conducted a surprise inspection of the Govt Girls' Home Unit-1 in Swaroop Nagar, Govt Girls' Home Unit-2 in Nawabganj Khayora, and Govt Boys' Home in Kalyanpur. During the inspection of Girls' Home Unit-1, three girls requested to be sent home. The superintendent informed them that their parents were not willing to take them. The district judge instructed the district probation officer to ensure that necessary actions are taken to send the girls home. During the inspection of Govt Girls' Home Unit-2, the facility was found to be unclean, and there were only four doctor visits this month. The district probation officer was instructed to immediately assign a cleaning staff to ensure cleanliness and to ensure regular doctor visits by corresponding with the authorities concerned. At the inspection of Govt Boys' Home in Kalyanpur, the district judge praised a teacher named Suman who was found regularly educating the children and conducting various activities. It was noted that none of the three institutions had a yoga instructor. The district probation officer was directed to ensure that a regular yoga instructor is appointed by corresponding with the relevant authorities. During the inspection, additional district judge/secretary Kamlesh Kumar Maurya, additional district magistrate (Judicial) Chandrashekhar, and district probation officer Jaideep Singh were present.
