Aijaz Aslam reflects on his mother's passing

In a post shared to social media on Friday, actor Aijaz Aslam reflected on the emotions of spending his first Ramazan after his mother's passing last year. "This Ramazan feels profoundly different without you, Ammi. As I sit in the place where you once sat and had iftari, the emptiness of your absence weighs heavily on my heart. The iftar table is filled with beautiful dishes, and the prayers echo through the evening, yet everything feels unfinished," he wrote. Building on the gravity of the loss, he added, "Your love, warm smile, and gentle touch remain precious memories that I hold dear, but they only remind me of how deeply I miss you this year. I find myself yearning for your comforting presence more than ever." Aslam added a prayer for his beloved mother in the heartfelt note. "May Allah envelop you in His peace and illuminate your resting place with His light. You are missed more than words can express, and my heart aches for you." Enduring his insurmountable grief, the Cheekh actor ended his post on a hopeful note. "I can only imagine how wonderful it must be for you and Abbu to share iftar in Jannah, sending blessings to Mifra, Bushra, Farah (my sisters), and all your grandchildren. Missing you so much." He punctuated his note with the hashtag #FirstRamazanWithoutYou. Aslam announced the heartbreaking news of his mother's passing in October. The veteran actor's grief was palpable as he penned a tribute to his beloved mother. "My beautiful mother just left this world for a better place. Her kindness, love, and wisdom will forever remain in my heart. As we grieve her loss, I kindly ask you all to keep her in your thoughts and prayers. May her soul find eternal peace," he wrote, asking for prayers and reflection during the difficult time. Aslam's note revealed the depth of his loss, as he remembered his mother for her beautiful qualities which were evident in the love she shared with her family. The note was accompanied by a video of his mother in the hospital. The sombre clip brought out an intimate and vulnerable side to Aslam. The actor's post resonated with fans and friends, as they left their condolences, prayers and messages of support in the comments. Many spoke about how the bond between a mother and child is irreplaceable.

When Saba Qamar and Aamina Sheikh were bestie goals

In an Instagram Story shared on Monday, Saba Qamar and Aamina Sheikh showed us how to bring one's A-game to wedding festivities as they posed together during one of Kubra Khan and Gohar Rasheed's many wedding events. "Roll out the carpet, we are coming," Saba wrote to the newlyweds. While the Cheekh actor donned a peachy sari, Aamina stunned in a white, gleaming ensemble. Both the actors opted to tie their hair back, the former in an elegant bun, and the latter in a traditional braid. Aside from elevating the glam game, Saba and Aamina also stood out for being best-friend goals. However, this was just one of the many times the two on-screen sisters showed us exactly what the phrase means. A long-running bond Fondly known as the Maat sisters, the two marked their first appearance together with the 2011 drama serial. Although the drama followed two sisters who were at odds with each other due to different goals in life, it birthed an everlasting friendship between the stars who played them. "I have had an extremely pleasant experience working with Aamina Sheikh. She's one of the most professional and hardworking actors we have in the industry," Saba told The Express Tribune in 2018. Heartfelt reunions In August last year, Saba dedicated a heartwarming note to her industry friend in an Instagram post, which saw them sporting matching black and white attires in true sisterly fashion. Reflecting on their time together, the Karachi Se Lahore actor wrote, "I can't help but feel truly grateful for the time spent with such a wonderful soul. Your presence brought warmth and joy to my home and our conversations left me inspired." She continued to praise Aamina's qualities, adding, "I admire not just your incredible talent as an actor but also the grace and authenticity with which you live your life. It's rare to meet someone who embodies such genuine kindness and wisdom, and I feel fortunate to have you as a friend." Expressing her hopes for the future, Saba concluded with heartfelt wishes, "Looking forward to creating more beautiful memories together and cherishing this friendship for years to come." In the post, the two actors were seen having a girls' day in what looked like Saba's home, which she previously shared a photoshoot of on social media. In one particularly heartwarming picture, they sat on a couch with their hands joining to make a heart. Aamina looked simple yet elegant in a white kurta while Saba kept it casual and clean in a white t-shirt, her summer bangs on full display. Following this, the two announced their on-screen reunion with Case #9 after fourteen long years. In the Instagram Story shared in January, the actors held each other in a long, swaying embrace, both twinning with pairs of sunglasses and crop tops. "Saba, we made it. We're here," Aamina said to her friend, as they clapped their hands together. "We're here to slay." This should be an indication that Saba isn't the only with praises to dispense. Aamina also took to Instagram in August last year to laud her friend's performance as her on-screen sister. "Life and screen both light up and shine when there is mutual respect, admiration, and reciprocity of love," the Cake actor began. "Aimen, my character in Maat, wouldn't have made as significant a mark had it not been for Saba's fearless and uninhibited performance of Saman's (the sister) nuances and recklessness. She was the true yin to my yang in Maat." Hopeful for the years ahead, Aamina concluded, "And now in life, we pick up from where we left off, always grateful, always joyful to have shared the journey and success of Maat together."

I will be back really soon, promises Saba Qamar

After a minor health scare necessitating hospitalisation, A-lister Saba Qamar posted an update on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday reassuring her followers that all was well. "Hey, my amazing fans! I know a lot of you were worried about me, so I just wanted to let you know that I had severe diarrhoea, but Alhamdulillah, I'm feeling much better now," began the Cheekh actor. Saba's caption sits atop a picture of herself smiling in a hospital bed as she is flanked by a team of well-wishers, including Maat co-star Aamina Sheikh and Ishq Jalebi actor Hina Khwaja Bayat. Paying homage to her medical team Saba continued, "I'm healing, recovering, and my wonderful team is taking great care of me." Saba also acknowledged the good wishes and well-intentioned queries of her fans and followers with a sweet note, hinting that it would not be long before she returned to work. "Your love and prayers mean so much to me, and I promise I'll be back really soon," she penned. "Love you all, please keep me in your duas!" Proving how much she was moved by the love of her fans, the actor also shared on her Stories a photo of a message held up by a fan performing Umrah. The picture simply shows a fan holding up a notepad with the words "Saba Qamar Zaman" with a shot of the Kaaba in the background, along with the caption, "Praying for your speedy recovery." Earlier in the week, when fans now know she must have been recuperating from her illness, Saba had addressed her followers on Instagram Stories as reassurance that her absence from social media was no cause for alarm. "Sometimes in life, you just need to take a step back, be quiet for a bit, and give yourself some time to heal and recharge," she had written at the time. That's all it is – I'm okay, so please don't worry about me. "I promise this is just a little pause, not the end of anything. Even the brightest stars need to rest sometimes so they can shine even brighter." Adopting an upbeat tone, Saba had added, "I'll be back soon, full of energy and positivity, and I can't wait to share more moments with you all. In the meantime, take care of yourselves and keep smiling. Love you all so much! SQ." One of Pakistan's most bankable stars, Saba has won hearts not only with her screen presence, but also with her philanthropic efforts. Last October, the Mrs & Mrs Shameem star was appointed as the UNICEF National Ambassador for child rights in Pakistan, a cause close to the actor's heart.
