EMTA announces summer route changes, including popular Presque Isle Express

The EMTA has announced the return of the Presque Isle Express in June. Route 33, also known as the Presque Isle Express, is a free ride from downtown Erie to Presque Isle State Park. CheesErie holds first annual Spring Craft Festival Riders are taken from downtown, across Millcreek and are given the opportunity to stop at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center and around other locations throughout the peninsula. It operates Wednesdays and Saturdays this summer, including extended hours on Wednesdays to accommodate the Presque Isle Partnership's Sunset Music series. Postal workers ‘Stamp Out Hunger' with help from local food bank

Postal carriers had a chance to help community members in need on Saturday. The national food drive, Stamp Out Hunger, was brought to Erie with the help of the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest PA and area postal carriers. CheesErie holds first annual Spring Craft Festival Stamp Out Hunger is an annual event organized by the National Letter Carriers Association that gives anyone around the country a chance to donate food to their community. Locals can leave food donations out by their mailboxes that will be collected by their mail carrier and donated. The bees knees! EHCA hosts annual spring fundraiser with 1920s flair 'We're able to raise so much food today that we can then redistribute to our neighbors in need, and they really are your neighbors. You're helping out your neighbors in need like veterans, seniors, children…it's very impactful to the local community,' said Greg Hall, CEO of the Second Harvest Food Bank. Some families took Mother's Day celebrations to the water on Sunday. The annual Mother's Day cruises on the Victorian Princess riverboat made a return to offer mothers a unique way to spend the day. CheesErie holds first annual Spring Craft Festival The boat offered three different cruises — one for brunch, lunch and dinner, all fully catered. Guests on those cruises enjoyed live entertainment, delicious meals and views on the lake. The bees knees! EHCA hosts annual spring fundraiser with 1920s flair 'It's exciting. I'm excited. I'm a mother too, so my kids used to have to spend Mother's Day working on the boat for me. Take your mother out for a nice boat ride to see Lake Erie, get a good brunch, and it's a lot of fun,' said Duryea Gette, owner of the Victorian Princess. CheesErie holds first annual Spring Craft Festival

Vendors set up at a local Erie restaurant over the weekend for a special event. CheesErie held its first annual Spring Craft Festival right outside its doors. The bees knees! EHCA hosts annual spring fundraiser with 1920s flair Visitors saw over a dozen unique vendors and were able to enjoy food from CheesErie along with live music. CheesErie staff hoped to give back to the community with this free event and support small local businesses. Orphan Angels offers new services thanks to HQ remodel 'We were looking into planning something for the community. We reached out to local vendors and musicians in the area to see who was willing to come set up, and just really a bunch of businesses working together to create an event,' said Kalea Anderson, owner of CheesEire. Erie Restaurant Week wraps up its 5th year on a high note

Erie Restaurant Week is over and community leaders said it was another successful event. According to VisitErie, this year's event included 63 restaurants. Last year, only 48 restaurants participated. Say cheese! CheesErie announces tentative opening date of third location Official numbers have not been totaled yet, but VisitErie leaders told JET 24/FOX 66 that large numbers are anticipated. Event organizers said Erie Restaurant Week is more than just an opportunity to taste all that Erie has to offer, it's also a good economic driver. Son of famous architect visits Hagen History Center 'January is typically a slower month for the restaurants. They took such a hit during the Thanksgiving weekend that restaurant week couldn't come at a better time, and I'm hoping that they will all agree that it was successful. They saw a lot of people coming in that might have been regular patrons and I'm guessing they saw a lot of people that are first-timers,' said Christine Temple, director of communications for VisitErie.
