McDonald's has ditched a popular meal deal and customers are fuming

It's not the only change McDonald's has made recently FEELING FRIED McDonald's has ditched a popular meal deal and customers are fuming Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) MCDONALD'S fans are demanding the return of a much-loved breakfast deal that fans called 'a lifesaver'. The fast food chain has withdrawn its £2.99 breakfast consisting of a Sausage and Egg McMuffin with a hot drink, leaving customers angrily vowing to breakfast elsewhere. "Now that's disappeared from my local, I can't justify the prices on anything else!' Another said on formerly known as Twitter: 'McMuffin and Hot Drinks deal needs to be brought back. "It was a lifesaver for people who are tight on money. 'I went to Lichfield this morning and was shocked to see it's no longer there. Went to @GreggsOfficial instead.' A third added: 'What's happened to your breakfast McMuffin and hot drink deal? Really disappointed it disappeared from the menu. 'It just sends me and others to @GreggsOfficial who do an amazing breakfast deal.' Meanwhile, a fourth fan fumed: 'Shame on you for taking £2.99 sausage egg McMuffin & hot drink deal off!! 'Do you know how many struggling UK citizens relied on this for a substantial breakfast? Now at £5, it's out of their range.' Another said: 'Rip McMuffin and coffee breakfast deal, you will be missed.' McDonald's launches brand-new burger featuring never-before-seen sauce It's understood the deal was a limited offer in participating stores, meaning it wasn't a permanent menu fixture. Last year, the same items were available for £2.79, but the 20p price rise didn't put fans off. Buying the same items would now cost around £4.80, with a sausage and egg McMuffin priced at £3.39 and a regular white coffee is £1.39. McDonald's is currently offering its Breakfast Saver Menu, which in some branches includes a separate £2.99 deal for a Saver Bacon Roll and a drink. A McDonald's spokesperson told The Sun: 'We know how much our customers enjoy our iconic breakfast offerings and it was great to see the popularity of that Breakfast Deal. "We're always evolving our menu to keep things fresh and exciting for our customers, and we regularly review our Saver Menu to ensure it offers choice for all.' In comparison, Greggs offers a breakfast roll meal deal for £2.85. This includes a breakfast roll with one filling as well as a regular hot drink or a 250ml bottle of orange juice. Other McDonald's news It comes as McDonald's fans were devastated after the chain stopped selling its triple cheeseburger. McDonald's also axed several items last week to make way for the new menu offering. Among them were the Cheesy Garlic Bread Dippers, Lotus Biscoff McFlurry, Steakhouse Stack and McSpicy x Frank's RedHot. The menu update comes after the fast food chain discontinued the Chicken Bacon Caesar Wrap last month. McDonald's said it was part of a 'rotation' of its wrap offering. The wrap, which combined chicken breast strips, crispy onions, rashers of bacon and lettuce, was first launched in summer 2023. Meanwhile, Tesco has axed its Pink and Cloudy Lemonade in a blow to fizzy drink fans. Tesco's Cloudy Lemonade is also being replaced with a new product called Lemon Zero.

McDonald's axing four items from menus in DAYS including ‘best ever' McFlurry and popular burger

The chain regularly switches up its menu bringing in new items and axing others. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 3 McDonald's McSpicy x Frank's RedHot is leaving the menu Credit: McDonald's UK 3 Fans will be gutted as the Biscoff McFluury is dropped 3 The steakhouse stack is also leaving Credit: McDonald's From June 17, Cheesy Garlic Bread Dippers, Lotus Biscoff McFlurry, Steakhouse Stack and, McSpicy x Frank's RedHot are all leaving the menu. The RedHot burger, served with spicy mayo, alongside salad and a toasted seed bun, had been brought back to menus on May 7. The hot burger was first introduced in the UK back in February 2024, and was available for six weeks. And it's been given a similar amount of time on menus this time around. McDonald's excited loyal customers when it revealed it was relaunching the Lotus Biscoff McFlurry flavour in its branches from April 17. McDonald's had previously axed the Biscoff McFlurry last year. The dessert comes with the famous McDonald's ice cream and is topped with Biscoff sauce and crumbled biscuits. At the time, fans wrote online about their delight. One said: "Oh my God this is a dream come true." Now, there is only days to indulge before the sweet treat is pulled again. McDonald's launches brand-new burger featuring never-before-seen sauce The Steakhouse Stack burger is also going after being re-launched at the beginning of May. At the same time, customers will see Cheesy Garlic Bread Dippers disappear. These were £2.40 for four or a share box, £6.66. It could be another year before these items make a comeback - if at all - so anyone wanting to get a taste of these favourites will need to move fast. New items incoming As the much loved items leave the menu, the chain is cheering up customers by bringing back other food favourites. From next Wednesday (June 18) the menu will host the cheesy McCrispy, £6.69, halloumi fries, as as well as toffee and apple pie. The Toffee Crisp McFlurry, £2.39, is also making a comeback. At the same time, the fast food joint is also launching The Big Arch burger, £7.99, featuring two beef patties, white cheddar cheese slices, crispy onions, fresh onions, shredded lettuce, crunchy pickles, finished with a layer of signature Big Arch sauce. The Katsu chicken one wrap is also staying on menus longer than previously planned. How to save at McDonald's You could end up being charged more for a McDonald's meal based solely on the McDonald's restaurant you choose. Research by The Sun found a Big Mac meal can be up to 30% cheaper at restaurants just two miles apart from each other. You can pick up a Big Mac and fries for just £2.99 at any time by filling in a feedback survey found on McDonald's receipts. The receipt should come with a 12-digit code which you can enter into the Food for Thought website alongside your submitted survey. You'll then receive a five-digit code which is your voucher for the £2.99 offer. There are some deals and offers you can only get if you have the My McDonald's app, so it's worth signing up to get money off your meals. The MyMcDonald's app can be downloaded on iPhone and Android phones and is quick to set up. You can also bag freebies and discounts on your birthday if you're a My McDonald's app user. The chain has recently sent out reminders to app users to fill out their birthday details - otherwise they could miss out on birthday treats.
