Next Stay Close ✕ Set to premiere on Tuesday, August 19, sous chefs wronged by their mentors to restaurateurs defending their turf against copycat rivals, each episode will showcase chefs putting their prized knives and reputations on the line for a chance to win $10 000 (R178 000), their opponent's most cherished knife and ultimate bragging rights. "I'm thrilled to be joining the Food Network family. As someone who's always been passionate about both competition and delicious food, 'Chef Grudge Match' is the perfect fit. From the ring to the kitchen, I've never shied away from a challenge, and now I get to have fun while bringing that same intensity to a show where culinary rivalries are settled once and for all," shared Ali. The show's premiere episode will feature a fiery confrontation between Italian chef Gabe Bertaccini and his former protégé, Tyler Romine. Betrayed by Romine's sudden departure from his catering business, Bertaccini has harboured a 15-year grudge that is set to boil over in the kitchen. The second match showcases chef Taylor Frankel from Vail, Colorado, who has a bone to pick with her former Sous chef, Maria Busato, after she opened a rival catering company in the same small town. "Throughout the eight-episode season, viewers can expect heated battles over business disputes, recipe rivalries, student-teacher conflicts and even husband versus wife showdowns, all taking place in front of a live studio audience with the electric atmosphere of a boxing match," shared the channel. Aside from Ali, resident judge Jet Tila will be joined by an impressive roster of guest judges, including culinary heavyweights like Eric Adjepong, Maneet Chauhan and Tiffani Faison, among others, adding their expert insights to the fierce competition. Claressa Shields vs. Laila Ali: Where fight stands according to Ali business partner
A longtime business representative of Laila Ali says the daughter of Muhammad Ali is focused on a grudge match -- but not the one involving a potential fight against Claressa Shields. Noble, Ali's business representative, said Muhammad Ali's daughter is focused on Food Network's 'Chef Grudge Match' premiering Aug. 12. Laila Ali will host the show. 'We don't have any comment for you at this time regarding the boxing matter,'' Noble told USA TODAY Sports by text message. 'However, when Laila has something to share very soon, the public will know." Two weeks ago, Shields announced that her team has put $15 million in escrow for Ali, if Ali agrees to the fight. Ali has not publicly responded to the offer and in an interview last week with USA TODAY Sports, Shields said, "Do you want to entertain a fight or do you not?'' Ali, 47, was 24-0 with 21 knockouts before she retired from professional boxing in 2007. Khalilah Camacho Ali, one of Muhammad Ali's former wives, said, "I think Laila needs to stay in the kitchen.'' Shields, 30, is 17-0 with three knockouts. She defended her undisputed heavyweight title on July 27 with a victory over Lani Daniels by unanimous decision.

Popular Food Network Show Returning This Summer With Different Name and New Host
Popular Food Network Show Returning This Summer With Different Name and New Host originally appeared on Parade. A popular Food Network cooking competition series is returning in the summer of 2025 with a new name and a new host! For two seasons, Superchef Grudge Match was a fun option, sort of a Tournament of Champions Lite. It was hosted by and would pit two chefs against each other who had some kind of feud or grudge to settle. Unfortunately, it did not return after its second season aired due to the host's legal issues regarding a domestic violence incident with his wife. But Food Network Magazine revealed in its new issue that the popular competition series is returning this summer with a (slightly) new name and a brand-new Ferguson's nickname was "Superchef," the show was called Superchef Grudge Match. But it returns this summer simply as Chef Grudge Match, and the person taking over the hosting duties is none other than famed boxer and daughter of boxing legend Muhammad Ali, . The Food Network description reads, "The competitors on this show have long-standing rivalries, and they're looking to settle them with a culinary showdown. Host Laila Ali, a boxing hall-of-famer, oversees the action as judges determine which chef wins each round and ultimately goes home with $10,000." This is not Ali's first foray into television. She co-hosted the revival of American Gladiators and competed on season 4 of Dancing With the Stars. She also competed on Chopped: All Stars, was a cast member on The Celebrity Apprentice season 8, and appeared as "Panda" on season 2 of The Masked Singer. The article also revealed the first three match-ups. Typically, an episode of Superchef Grudge Match would have two match-ups per episode, so we aren't sure if two of these are in the premiere and one of them is in the second episode, or if they're changing the format to have three match-ups per episode. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 But either way, the first three match-ups include two Food Network Stars in 24 in 24: Last Chef Standing contestants Gabe Bertaccini and Damaris Phillips, both of whom have appeared on multiple Food Network shows. The announced matchups are as follows: Gabe Bertaccini vs Tyler RomineThis 15-year feud started when Tyler quit Gabe's restaurant with just three days' notice. Taylor Frankel vs Maria BusatoMaria was Taylor's sous chef until she opened a rival catering company in the same small town. Damaris Phillips vs Coby MingThese co-chefs want to settle whose fried chicken recipe deserves a spot on their menu. There is no word yet as to when Chef Grudge Match will premiere on Food Network.
