Chemours Swings to Loss, Despite Higher Revenue
Chemours CC 3.44%increase; green up pointing triangle swung to a loss in the second quarter, despite posting higher revenue from improved performance across its three businesses.
The Wilmington, Del.-based chemicals company swung to a loss of $381 million, or $2.54 a share, compared with a profit of $60 million, or 40 cents a share, a year earlier. The loss was primarily driven by litigation-related charges tied to an environmental settlement with New Jersey and related tax impacts.
