Bukit Jalil braces for 60,000 fans tonight as Malaysia takes on Vietnam in Asian Cup Qualifier
KUALA LUMPUR, June 10 — A total of 60,000 football fans are expected to attend the 2027 Asian Cup Qualifying Football Match between Malaysia and Vietnam at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, here at 9pm tonight. Cheras deputy district police chief Supt Ridzuan Khalid said all stadium entrances will open as early as 5.30pm and security checks will be carried out on spectators before entering the stadium to prevent them from bringing in prohibited items. He said these include firecrackers, fireworks, flares, helmets, laser pens, sharp objects, dangerous weapons, liquor, umbrellas, sticks, power banks, water bottles, ice cubes, lighters, matches, cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, drones, speakers and drums (without permission from the MFL). 'To ensure smooth traffic flow, the public is advised to use public transport to the Bukit Jalil National Stadium and avoid passing through the area around the stadium for non-match-related business. 'The public is also asked to obey the instructions of police officers, be patient on the road and not to park vehicles on the road shoulder as vehicles that obstruct traffic will be towed away or fined,' he said in a statement today. He said his party would not hesitate to take strict action against any group or individual who tries to cause chaos, riots and excessive provocations during or after the football match. Mum, relative held after boy falls to death from 30th floor of condo

(Facebook pic) PETALING JAYA : Police have arrested the mother of a four-year-old boy who fell to his death from the 30th floor of a condominium in Bukit Jalil yesterday. Cheras police chief Aidil Bolhassan said a sibling of the woman was also arrested and that both have been remanded until today. He said the boy died due to multiple injuries from the fall and that the cause of the incident has yet to be determined. The investigation is being conducted under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001 covering ill-treatment, neglect, abandonment, or exposure of children to harm. The body was sent to the forensic unit of Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz UKM for a post-mortem. The case has been classified as a sudden death. A 37-second video showing a man believed to be related to the victim crying by the boy's body had gone viral.

Four-year-old boy dies after falling from 30th-floor apartment in Bukit Jalil
KUALA LUMPUR, June 6 — A four-year-old boy was killed after he is believed to have fallen from the balcony of his 30th-floor residence at an apartment in Bukit Jalil yesterday. Cheras police chief ACP Aidil Bolhassan said an emergency call was received at 11.17 am from a man reporting the incident. 'The victim's body has been sent to the forensics unit of Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz, and a post-mortem examination is scheduled for tomorrow,' he said in a statement. The case has been classified as sudden death and further investigation is ongoing. A 37-second video of the incident has also gone viral on social media, showing a man believed to be a family member in tears next to the child, whose body was covered with a cloth. — Bernama

(Facebook pic) PETALING JAYA : Around 70,000 spectators are expected to attend the Maybank Challenge Cup football match between Manchester United and Asean All-Stars tomorrow night, say police. The match will take place at 8.30pm at Stadium Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur, with gates opening at 5.30pm. Cheras police chief Aidil Bolhassan said extensive preparations had been made, with support from various departments and units to ensure public safety and order. 'Spectators are subject to body searches and bag checks upon entry and are not allowed to bring bottled water, walking sticks or canes, and even ice cubes,' he said in a statement today. Other prohibited items include power banks, e-cigarettes or vapes, drones, megaphones, sharp or dangerous objects, and helmets. Aidil said police would not hesitate to act against any individual or group attempting to cause disturbances, riots, or provocations during or after the match. He advised fans to use public transportation and avoid surrounding roads to prevent traffic congestion. He also reminded the public to comply with instructions from officers on duty, adding that action would be taken against owners of vehicles obstructing traffic.

Woman flung from van found dead on Kesas Highway

(Facebook pic) PETALING JAYA : A 44-year-old woman was found dead after she was reportedly flung out of a moving van along the Kesas Highway near the Awan Besar rest area heading towards here earlier today. Cheras police chief Aidil Bolhassan said police received a distress call at 2.58pm from a witness who claimed to have seen the woman being ejected from the van. 'The van fled the scene. The victim was confirmed dead at the location by medical personnel,' he said in a statement today. It is not known whether the woman died before or after being flung from the vehicle. She has been identified as being from Menglembu, Ipoh, but her name has been withheld.
