Salem's Queen of Sass: DAYS' Cherie Jimenez Celebrates One Year of Gabi Greatness
In 2023, Camila Banus announced that she would be leaving Days of Our Lives, upsetting fans who grew to love her feisty run as Gabi Hernandez. However, in June 2024, Cherie Jimenez debuted as the new Gabi and soon won the doubting fans' hearts. When she stepped in her new character's shoes, she hit the ground running and has been on a wild ride ever since. Jimenez recently celebrated one year on the soap, thrilling her enthusiastic fans.
Jimenez shared quite a few screenshots on Instagram from her year at DAYS, writing, 'Øne year as Gabriella Hernandez Dimera ✨⏳ To be part of the iconic legacy that is @dayspeacock has been a dream ✨ Bringing this character to life has been the greatest gift. I truly LOVE playing Gabi ✨ Thank you to everyone who has shown me love & support this past year. It means the world to me. Truly.
Greg Rikaart (Leo) excitedly responded, 'Queen 👑❤️,' while Al Calderon, who plays Leo's boyfriend, Javi, wrote, 'YOU ARE THE SUN AND THE MOON😍.' Abigail Klein (Stephanie) chimed in with the wonderful, 'All we need is MORE.' Meanwhile, Julie Dove, who played former baddie, Connie, lovingly replied, 'It's been an amazing year. I'm so proud of you. Love you!'

Dan Feuerriegel, whose character EJ constantly clashes with Gabi, affectionately responded, 'Gabi managed the infamous sibling slider w the DiMeras 🤣.' Ardent fans will no doubt recall that when Gabi wanted to stick it to Stefan, she ended up sleeping with EJ as revenge. She is so beloved, even the show's official Instagram account wrote, 'A wonderful year! 👏💙⏳.'
Just to show how the fans have come to embrace Jimenez in the role, one commented, 'I never thought the old Gabi could ever be replaced, but you have stepped it up, girl, and are doing an amazing job!!🔥 All we need now is to see you more and more and more on screen lol!! ❤️🔥.' And amid the congratulations, one fan summed up the collective response with, 'Your doing great! I love you as Gabby!'
