UPDATE 7/20/2025 (9:30 a.m.): Update from Fairhope Police: Brian Medley, the reported shooter in the incident that occurred last night, was discovered with a fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound shortly after 3 a.m. this morning. Medley, known to the victim, forcibly entered her apartment at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Saturday evening, where he subsequently shot her multiple times. The victim is currently hospitalized and in critical condition. UPDATE 7/20/2025 (4:30 a.m.): According to an updated Facebook Post from Fairhope Police, they are looking for a person of interest in this case. They are looking for 60-year-old Brian Medley of Daphne. The post reads: Medley drives a white 2014 Chevy 1500 4×4 crew cab truck. If anyone sees Medley, we ask that you please call 251.928.2385. UPDATE (8:41 p.m.) — We are learning more about a Saturday evening shooting at a Fairhope apartment complex. According to a post from Fairhope Police, a female has been transported to a local hospital for treatment after sustaining a gunshot wound. SIOUX FALLS SD (KELO) — Authorities in Brookings County responded to a pickup truck that fell through the ice on Oak Lake on Saturday. According to the Brookings County Sheriff's Office, deputies and White Fire Department were dispatched after a 2015 Chevy 1500 went into the water on Oak Lake around 11 p.m. Saturday. The driver said he was traveling from one ice fish house to another when he noticed open water ahead of him. 3 puppies rescued from dumpster The driver was unable to stop the vehicle and it entered open water. The driver was able to get out of the pickup and onto stable ice without being injured. Water remains open on some spots in the eastern part of the state. Ice fishing experts and the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Department remind anglers ice conditions continue to vary widely and water remains open on many lakes in eastern South Dakota.
