2% hike in DA for govt employees: CM
Raipur: Chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday announced a 2% hike in dearness allowance (DA) for govt employees in Chhattisgarh, bringing it at par with the Centre's 55%. Over four lakh state employees will benefit from the decision. Sai said the move was taken in view of the upcoming festive season. "Our employees were receiving 53% DA. With Diwali ahead, we have increased it to 55%, equal to what the Centre provides," he said. However, employee federations remain dissatisfied. The Chhattisgarh Employees-Officers Federation argued that while parity with the Centre is welcome, their long-pending demands have not been addressed. The federation is also pressing for its 11-point charter of demands, which includes arrears settlement and service-related benefits. With no progress in talks, the body has announced a state-wide protest on August 22. Stay updated with the latest local news from your city on Times of India (TOI).
