Office space above Bradford Chickano's takeaway could become HMO
Plans to convert the upper floors of a Bradford takeaway into a 10-bed house of multiple occupancy (HMO) have been submitted to the city above Chickano's chicken shop, at the junction of Leeds Road and Birksland Street, would be converted into two floors of residential space under the environmental health officers have raised concerns about how living above a takeaway on a busy road would impact on the HMO's residents.A decision on the application is expected later this month.
According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the plans, which have been submitted by Umer Akbar, would involve creating five en-suite bedrooms and a kitchen and living area on each environmental health officers said Mr Akbar had not provided information about how the occupants "will not be adversely affected by traffic and other environmental noise", given the property's location on one of the city's busiest said Mr Akbar would need to provide a noise impact assessment before they would be able to support the application.
