All Aboard Brasero Atlántico !

TDT | Manama From the shores of the Atlantic Ocean to the heart of Manama, Brasero Atlántico makes its dazzling Middle East debut. Their first choice of location? Beautiful Bahrain. This stunning Argentinian restaurant is the brainchild of two passionate restaurateurs — Alex Resnik and Tato Giovannoni. Perched on the rooftop of the iconic Sheraton Bahrain Hotel, the venue offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with the outdoor deck offering marvellous views of the city — especially at dinner. The Manama skyline provides a breathtaking backdrop, making this the perfect destination for an evening filled with vinyl music, artisan beverages, and mouthwatering food. The ambience is vibrant, contemporary, and unmistakably Argentinian. Award-winning bartender Tato Giovannoni began his journey to global acclaim with a bar tucked beneath a flower shop — Florería Atlántico in Barcelona, back in 2013. His passion for storytelling and flavour led him to establish Brasero Atlántico in September 2015, expanding on his vision of a space where food and culture intertwine. I had the pleasure of meeting Alex Resnik during launch night, who enthusiastically shared the inspiration behind the concept. He spoke of how Argentinian cuisine evolved from the culinary traditions brought by immigrants from Spain, Italy, and other parts of Europe. These communities arrived by sea through the Atlantic Ocean, and their influence is reflected in both the menu and the maritime design — an exposed ceiling, cosy interiors, and seating that overlooks a ship-shaped open kitchen. This is where Executive Chef — or rather, Captain — James Martin steers the team toward culinary brilliance, centred around a spectacular brasero (wood-fired grill and pizza oven). While Tato couldn't be there in person, his creativity was present through his hand-drawn sketches of mythical sea creatures found throughout the restaurant. After a warm welcome and guided tour from Assistant General Manager Stefan Radic, I spent time exploring the open kitchen and food counters. For culinary enthusiasts like myself, watching live pizza baking and grilling over fire is a real treat. The brasero grill is undoubtedly the heart of the restaurant — a place where flames crackle, and the aroma of seasoned meat fills the air. Meat is imported directly from a farm in Argentina, including prime ribeye, tenderloin, and striploin. Each cut is grilled to perfection — juicy, tender, and deeply flavourful. One detail that caught my eye was the careful folding of the empanadas — beautifully golden with their glossy egg-wash finish. One version featured succulent shredded osso buco, encased in a delicate, flaky pastry. Another offered a comforting Pascualina spinach filling, creamy and satisfying. The Chicken Wings Provençal stood out with Mediterranean notes of garlic and parsley, while the Palta Atlántico appetiser was refreshing and vibrant — prawns, ripe avocado, celery, green apple, and onion in perfect harmony. A personal favourite was the ham and roasted bell pepper pizza — so moreish, I had to return for seconds. With a perfectly baked crust, savoury turkey ham, sweet roasted peppers, and a generous layer of cheese, it was a visual and culinary delight. As I soaked in the panoramic views, I sipped on a chilled glass of Flower Water — delicately perfumed with rose, it was a lovely seasonal alternative to regular water, ideal for summer evenings. To end the evening on a sweet note, a creamy vanilla flan was served — smooth, indulgent, and the perfect finale to an unforgettable meal. Alex Resnik, Co-Founder of owning company The Hierophant Group, said:'Brasero Atlántico Bahrain invites guests on a vibrant journey — bringing together the lively spirit of Buenos Aires and the essence of Bahrain to this amazing destination. Our journey to creating this Argentine gem in Bahrain began at Florería Atlántico in Argentina, a place where traditions blossomed from Argentina's immigrant heritage. Now, this culinary voyage reaches the shores of Bahrain, inviting patrons to experience a fusion of cultures and tastes — a place honouring the soulful essence of Argentina's gastronomic identity.' As the embers of the brasero glow against the night sky and the rhythms of Buenos Aires echo across the Gulf, Brasero Atlántico doesn't just serve dinner — it ignites a celebration of heritage, fire, and fearless flavour. 📞 Contact Sheraton Bahrain Hotel on +973 38885482 to book your experience at Brasero Atlántico.
