This RCB player smashed 585 runs of just 167 balls, still treated as water boy due to...., his name is.....
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have performed impressively in IPL 2025 so far. Out of 10 matches, they have secured victory in 7 and currently hold 14 points. While most RCB players have delivered standout performances, there's one player in the squad with an extraordinary record who hasn't received a single opportunity yet this season. This player once scored over 500 runs in a single innings, yet in the current tournament, he has only been seen serving drinks. RCB bought 19-year-old Swastik Chikara for ₹30 lakh. He made headlines with a memorable performance in domestic cricket at just 14 years of age. In one match, Chikara smashed 585 runs off 167 balls, hitting 55 fours and 52 sixes. This explosive knock came while playing for Mahi Cricket Academy against ACE Cricket Academy (Gorakhpur) in a 40-over match in December 2019. His team scored 704 runs and won the game by a massive margin of 355 runs. Before joining RCB, Swastik Chikara was a part of the Delhi Capitals franchise. Although he didn't get a chance to play, he was closely associated with the team. RCB picked him up for ₹30 lakh in the mega auction. Interestingly, his auction sparked controversy. Delhi Capitals claimed they had raised the paddle to bid for Chikara, but the auctioneer failed to notice. The franchise alleged that their bid was ignored during the process. In comparison, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) spent a whopping ₹8 crore to acquire Akash Deep. Between IPL 2022 and 2024, Akash played 8 matches and managed to take only 7 wickets, giving away runs at an economy of over 11. Even in IPL 2025, he has played 4 matches with an economy rate of above 12, raising questions about returns on the heavy investment. Despite his explosive talent, Swastik Chikara has not been given a single opportunity to play for RCB so far this season. He is often spotted near senior player Virat Kohli during matches, but fans are eagerly awaiting his debut. It remains to be seen whether the team management will give this young talent a shot in the remainder of the tournament. RCB fans are hopeful that Swastik Chikara will finally get his chance to showcase his batting prowess in IPL 2025. With a background that includes one of the most remarkable domestic innings ever seen, Chikara's potential is clear. All eyes are now on the RCB management to see if they will unleash this young sensation before the season ends.

RCB youngster roasted with meme for 'shadowing' Virat Kohli, hits back with ice-cold reply: 'Apne bhai ko...'
Swastik Chikara's admiration for Virat Kohli has turned into a running joke this IPL season, with memes portraying the young RCB batter as the former skipper's ever-present shadow. The banter gained momentum after pacer Yash Dayal revealed that Chikara once opened Kohli's kitbag without permission and used his perfume following a game against Kolkata Knight Riders. The incident, lighthearted yet bold, added fuel to social media's portrayal of Chikara as someone constantly tailing Kohli. As RCB arrived in Delhi for their clash against the Capitals, the narrative picked up steam once again when Chikara was shown a viral meme that poked fun at his proximity to the RCB icon. The meme stated that one of the biggest 'tensions' for Chikara is to ensure he's the first to serve Virat Kohli water during matches. While those near Chiakra laughed at the joke, the youngster had a rather heartwarming response to being poked at. 'Toh kya ho gaya? Apne bhai ko toh main hi pilaaunga! (What's there in that? I'll serve water to my brother!),' Chikara said, as he smiled. RCB have been brilliant this season on the road, maintaining a perfect 5/5 record in away matches in IPL 2025. The side also registered its first win in Bengaluru after a long wait in their previous game against the Rajasthan Royals. It will aim to keep its winning run intact against Axar Patel's DC on Sunday. However, it will be a challenge as DC has been brilliant this season. With six wins in eight matches, they are currently second on the table, trailing Gujarat Titans by Net Run Rate. In addition to the tough competition, there will be a significant subplot that adds to the intensity of the clash; the match against DC will be a homecoming for Kohli, who hails from the city and also represents the state team in domestic cricket. In the previous match between the two teams, KL Rahul, the DC batter who hails from Bengaluru, played a match-winning knock and animatedly did a 'this is my ground' celebration, and many tout Kohli – who is currently second in the Orange Cap list this year – to repeat the same in Delhi.
