The credits and top-ups are part of a suite of measures to support families with children manage their child-raising costs.
SINGAPORE - Families with eligible children will receive Child LifeSG Credits or a top-up to their Edusave or Post-Secondary Education accounts in July.
Singaporean families will receive $500 in Child LifeSG Credits (CLC) for each child aged 12 and below.
About 300,000 students aged between 13 and 20 will each receive a one-off top-up of $500 in their Edusave accounts or Post-Secondary Education Accounts (PSEAs).
These are part of the suite of household support measures announced at Budget 2025 to help families in managing their child-raising costs, said the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) in a joint statement on July 3.
Children born between 2013 and 2024 are expected to receive the CLC in the week of July 7, while those born in 2025 will receive theirs in 2026. About 450,000 children are expected to receive the credits.
These credits can be used on household expenses such as groceries, pharmacy items, utilities or transport.
The CLC will be credited to the Child Development Account trustee of eligible children via a digital wallet in the LifeSG application. No application is required and recipients will be informed by SMS once the credits are in their wallet.
Parents of eligible students will also be informed via SMS when the $500 top-up has been successfully disbursed into their children's Edusave account or PSEA.
These top-ups are in addition to the Government's annual Edusave contribution, and are meant to support the education-related expenses of families with older children, said the MOE and MSF.
