Srettha Foundation Backs Education for Military Families

The Sermkla Foundation, also known as the Children's Cornerstone Foundation and founded by Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, has awarded seven continuing education scholarships to the children and relatives of Thai soldiers who lost their lives defending the nation's sovereignty near the Thai-Cambodian border. The scholarships were presented in Udon Thani to six families from across the country—Udon Thani, Ubon Ratchathani, Yasothon, Sing Buri, Mukdahan, and Khon Kaen. Each scholarship is designed to support the recipients through to university, easing financial burdens and opening doors to long-term educational opportunities. This initiative reflects the foundation's core mission: honouring military sacrifice while empowering families through sustainable support. 'Investing in education is the best way to build a brighter future for the next generation,' the foundation stated. Prime Minister Srettha, who established the foundation, emphasised the importance of grassroots support: 'Every act of help, no matter how small, has value. When we give with sincerity, we create real change. Let's all do our part to build a compassionate society.' At the 3rd Infantry Battalion Command in Udon Thani, the foundation presented scholarships to the children of Sergeant Major 1st Class (Posthumous) Teerayut Sijjuijai, who was killed in action in Buriram. His wife, Mayurin Sijjuijai, attended the ceremony with their two children. 'I'll raise our children the best I can, and let them choose their own dreams,' she said. 'My son wants to be a soldier like his father, and my daughter hopes to work in healthcare. These scholarships will help them follow the path their father wished for.' The Sermkla Foundation continues to work under the belief that no one should be left behind, especially the families of those who have given everything in service to the nation.
