In Labuan, repairs may take forever
Published on: Thursday, May 08, 2025 Published on: Thu, May 08, 2025 By: Sohan Das Text Size: Wong failed to understand why was work left half-done when the Madani government had allocated RM300 million to upgrade Labuan's water distribution. LABUAN: Chinese Chamber of Commerce Chairman Datuk Wong Kii Yii regretted that works in Labuan which could be fully completed within one or two hours were taking days to complete, much to the misery of many. He was referring to a small stretch along busy Jalan Tun Mustapha which had been dug up to repair a leaking water pipe. 'After the problem was fixed, the dug-up section was left unsealed with traffic cones, causing the road to be narrowed from two lanes to one and posing unnecessary risks to motorists. 'We could accept if it took one or two days to restore the road to its original state as it was a simple job but taking weeks is surely intolerable,' he said. He failed to understand why was work left half-done when the Madani government had allocated RM300 million to upgrade Labuan's water distribution. He hoped the relevant authority would look into the issue seriously and not wait for mishaps. * Follow us on Instagram and join our Telegram and/or WhatsApp channel(s) for the latest news you don't want to miss. * Do you have access to the Daily Express e-paper and online exclusive news?
