Although his departure has not been officially confirmed by the Chilli Boys, the 42-year-old has already relocated back to Gauteng. His contract will not be renewed by Chippa, despite his good relationship with the club chairman, Siviwe 'Chippa' Mpengesi. United finished 11th in the Betway Premiership standings and narrowly missed out on a top eight spot by just two points. 'Right now, coach Thabo is back in Gauteng and he's exploring a couple of options before he commits,' a source told Phakaaathi. 'He did well at Chippa and other clubs have shown interest. The good thing is that he leaves the club on good terms, and his relationship with Chippa is still good. A couple of teams are monitoring him as a potential addition to their technical team.' It remains to be seen whether the former Matsatsantsa a Pitori legend will return to his beloved club or take on a new challenge elsewhere, as teams in both the Premier Division and Motsepe Foundation Championship have shown interest in his services.

Kaizer Chiefs to buy Toaster?

No, Kaizer Chiefs aren't upgrading their kitchen facilities. They are, however, keen to reinforce the goalkeeping department. The latest reports indicate that Chiefs are open to selling Rwandan stopper Fiacre Ntwari. That leaves Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Petersen to fight for the gloves while there's potential in the untried Bontle Molefe. Nigeria and Chippa man Stanley Nwabali is a long-term option, as is the wonderfully named Toaster Nsabata from Zambia's Zesco United. Kaizer Chiefs' search for a reliable number one continues. Image: X Meanwhile, according to PanAfrica Football, Stephane Aziz Ki will be a Wydad player imminently. The 29-year-old Burkinabe star has been a standout performer for Tanzanian giants Young Africans. It's understood that Rulani Mokwena played a big role in convincing the talented goal-scoring midfielder to move to Morocco. As it happens, Mokwena will leave his post at the end of the season. 35-year-old Orlando Pirates legend leaves Chippa

Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns legend Andile Jali only played 13 matches for Chippa United this season. Is this the 35-year-old's final Premier Soccer League season as a footballer? 'Andile Jali has done it all in football,' a source told FARPost . 'When he joined Chippa United at the start of the season, it was more about enjoying football,' a source said on the PSL legend. 'The problem now is that he hasn't played that much for the club, so I think that's what will decide his future. Chippa is unlikely to take the option on Jali's contract, and he could go out the exit door. Another thing is that there are retirement talks for the player,' the source continued on FARPost . At the age of 35, retirement is a big topic now, so the next few weeks will be interesting. According to SABC Sport reporter Mazola Molefe, the former Orlando Pirates captain is parting ways with Chippa. 'We have it on good authority that Andile Jali is leaving Chippa United, and this could be his last season in football,' Molefe said on Soccer Zone. Mamelodi Sundowns are 2024-25 Betway Premiership champions

Iqraam Rayners scored his 14th goal of the season which puts him level on top of the goal scoring charts with teammate Ribeiro. (Photo by Richard Huggard/Gallo Images) Mamelodi Sundowns have cemented their dominance in South African football after securing an unprecedented eighth consecutive league title with a commanding 3-0 victory over Chippa United in a Betway Premiership clash at Buffalo City Municipality Stadium on Wednesday night. An Iqraam Rayners strike and a brace by Arthur Sales were enough as the Brazilians moved to an unassailable tally of 70 points with one match left to play. ALSO READ: Sundowns' Onyango sets sights on Chippa and continental success Sundowns needed only one point to secure the championship, but they bagged all three to register their 23rd win of the season. As expected, Sundowns dominated the early exchanges with Lucas Ribeiro and Rayners threatening the Chippa goal. It didn't come as a surprise when Rayners opened the scoring in the 11th minute after weaving his way into the box before expertly placing his shot in the top corner. It was the former Stellenbosch FC striker's 14th goal of the season which puts him level on top of the goal scoring charts with teammate Ribeiro. The goal spurred on Masandawana who were looking to kill off the game in the opening 45 minutes, but Chippa goalkeeper Darren Johnson produced a number of good saves to keep his side in the game. Sales came off the bench to seal the win with a brace late in the second stanza. His first goal was a fortuitous one in the 69th minute. The Brazilian's attempted cross from the right caught Johnson off guard to sneak into the back of the net after hitting the woodwork. Johnson, who had a decent game, was also at fault for Sundowns' third goal. He gave the ball away to Sales in the box and the lanky striker punished him on the stroke of full time. The win gave Miguel Cardoso his first piece of silverware at Downs after taking over from Manqoba Mngqithi last December. Since joining the Chloorkop-based side, the Portuguese coach has overseen 20 league matches, recording 17 wins, two defeats, and one draw. His biggest victory margin came in February with a dominant 4-0 win over Golden Arrows. The only setbacks in Cardoso's tenure were losses against Orlando Pirates and TS Galaxy, while Arrows were the only team to hold Sundowns to a stalemate under his leadership. Following the match against Magesi, Sundowns will turn their focus to the two-legged CAF Champions League final against Pyramids FC of Egypt later this month.
