Local care group fundraiser invite you to the speakeasy
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A first fundraiser of its kind is happening on Friday with a roaring 20s theme and classic casino games.
Alta Care Group has several locations in Mahoning, Trumbull, and Columbiana counties and is a behavioral health center serving children and families from infants to age 21. It also operates the Trumbull and Mahoning County Head Start Program.
The group is holding its first 'Chips for Kids: A Roaring 20s Casino Royale' fundraiser on Friday, March 7 at the Embassy in Boardman. Attendees are invited to dress in their finest 1920s black tie-inspired attire while the venue is transformed into a jazz speakeasy.
Casino games include blackjack, poker and roulette, and funds raised will help keep many important programs at Alta afloat.
'It helps with your programs that are underfunded or have no funding, such as our early childhood mental health programs, our intensive outpatient programs that we run during the summer,' said Alta Care Group incoming CEO Vince Paolucci. 'We have a wide, diverse range of programs from early childhood mental health to a first episode psychosis program, all the way to respite programming.'
Funny money and poker chips will be available for purchase with cash, as well as drink tickets for the bar. There will also be a Youngstown cookie table, raffle baskets, a live auction, a jazz quartet and more.
Tickets are $80 and include a buffet dinner. Doors open at 6 p.m., tables open at 7 p.m., and the event ends at 10 p.m.
