Llanidloes to host first ever Chocolate Festival of Wales

A Powys town is set to host the very first Chocolate Festival of Wales. The brand-new festival is coming to Llanidloes on Saturday, October 25. As well as bringing together chocolate businesses from across Wales, and just beyond, for a special indoor market, there will be a series of events and activities across the day. This includes chocolate tasting, film screenings, storytelling sessions, cooking demonstrations and outdoor activities. There will be activities for both children and adults, and most will be free. Award-winning Powys chocolatiers celebrate sweet 10th anniversary in style Businesses across the town are getting involved by creating special dishes, window displays and even chocolate-themed cocktails. The day also includes a hot chocolate pop-up which will be held in one of the central cafes in town. Meredith Whitely is the Llanidloes -based creator of the Calm Cocoa mindful hot chocolate range and member of the Llanidloes Chamber of Trade which is organising the inaugural festival. She loves using chocolate as a tool to help people live more mindfully and to bring people together. Meredith said: "The Chocolate Festival will be a fun and delicious day that celebrates the many fascinating parts of chocolate and cacao, as well as the lovely community of Llanidloes." The Llanidloes Chamber of Trade was formed in June 2023 following a consultation with business owners and other organisations in the town. Their aim is to help revitalise the town through bringing together the many and varied businesses to promote the qualities, culture and work of Llanidloes. Organisers will share a more detailed agenda for the day as the festival gets closer, with updates coming on the dedicated Facebook and Instagram pages at @chocolatefestivalwales.

St. Francis of the Islands Episcopal Church holds Chocolate Fest

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — If you have a sweet tooth and a fondness for chocolate St. Francis of the Islands Episcopal Church was the place to visit today to fulfill your chocolate desires. The Chocolate fest is held annually at the church before Valentine's Day. Well, we were looking for a fundraiser so that we could continue our missions,' said Joyce Tinsley, chairman of the Chocolate Festival. Tinsley's idea came from her past outreach. 'I moved here from Missouri, and we did it in a church there. And so I said, 'what do you think?' And they thought, 'well, that's different.' So that's how it got started.' Anything from truffles and fudge to pastries, cakes, cheesecakes and decorating kits for cookies were all for sale. The festival helps support the church's programs.
