‘I cannot thank you enough' – Wrexham legend thanks Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney as he announces departure

WREXHAM fan-favourite Mark Howard has announced his exit from the Welsh club after helping them climb the Football League. Howard, 38, confirmed his exit from the Racecourse in an emotional statement on social media - thanking Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney for bringing him to the club. 4 4 Howard joined Wrexham in 2022, helping the club secure promotion into the Football League as the first choice goalkeeper alongside former Premier League star Ben Foster. While he has had a smaller role in recent seasons, losing his starting spot to Arthur Okonkwo as Wrexham have earned another two successive promotions from League Two and League One. Howard, who is nicknamed Chomp, featured just 11 times in League One last season and will depart ahead of the Red Dragon's return to the Championship. In a statement revealing that he isn't planning on retiring just yet, he wrote: "From the moment I pulled on the Wrexham shirt, I have tried to bring professionalism, passion, and personality to the club. "As I reflect on what an incredible journey it's been, I consider myself fortunate to have shared a dressing room with the best teammates. "Everyday I have left with a smile on my face wanting to come back and do it all over again. Love you boys. "Being able to say I'm the only goalkeeper ever to do the three-peat. Back-to-back-to-back. I say tongue in cheek. "I am deeply grateful for the opportunities I've had here. CASINO SPECIAL - BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS "Working alongside some of the most amazing staff on and off the pitch, giving me the encouragement to do more, I cannot thank you enough. "The connection with the fans was tough at times but now I feel part of the family, I would like to think you've all grown to love me. Wrexham stars celebrate in iconic Las Vegas casino and hijack luggage cart after Hollywood owners splash £500k on party "At this stage I still feel like I have more football in me, so it's not retirement yet, I still want to dive around while my body lets me. "Finally a huge thank you to these two amazing people. Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds." Wrexham stars were quick to pass on their well-wishes to the experienced shot-stopper. Elliot Lee wrote: "The oldest goalkeeper there ever was. I will miss you old man". While Andy Cannon added: "One of the best. What a man". Steven Fletcher posted: "Chompy, what a fella. Friend for life big man." And Wrexham director and comedian Humphrey Ker wrote: "Farewell to a man who never let us down and always lifted us up. One of the greats. The Chomp." Howard, who previously played for the likes of Sheffield United and Blackpool, leaves Wrexham having made 58 appearances and kept 19 clean sheets for the club. He could be the first of many to leave on the expiration of their current deals at Wrexham as the club look to bring in more talent to compete in the Championship next season. Wrexham are yet to release their retained list, however a number of players are set to run out of contract - including former Scotland international Steven Fletcher. 4 4

Polish chef in Hong Kong's favourite restaurants for lunch, late-night Japanese, Cantonese

Poland native Krzysztof (Chris) Czerwinski is executive chef at Soho House Hong Kong where, on May 21, he will host another Rescued Feast alongside guest chef Samaira Kavatkar. The upscale dining series in collaboration with food-saving app Chomp turns scraps and surplus ingredients destined for landfill into innovative dishes. He spoke to Andrew Sun. Advertisement Polish cuisine, as with other central European cuisines, is rather under-represented. People think of pierogi (filled dumplings) or kielbasa (Polish sausage) but the cuisine is so diverse. Growing up, my family had a mountain vacation home, and we immersed ourselves in produce from the surroundings and our gardens – fresh peas, zucchinis, gooseberries, apples, strawberries and blackcurrants. We fermented almost everything, and my grandma gathered petals and whipped up fabulous jam, but wild mushroom season was the most exciting time. Krzysztof Czerwinski, executive chef at Soho House Hong Kong, says Polish food is diverse, but under-represented. Photo: Dead Good For a quick lunch, I turn to BaseHall (Jardine House, LG/F, 1 Connaught Place, Central). I think it's really cool how it has brought in niche local brands. My favourites are Kamcentre Roast Goose and Twins Liangpi, both in BaseHall 02.

A mop for your walls? This spring cleaning savior exists, and it's down to $40

In less than a week, spring will officially make its grand entrance — and we can't say we're sad to see winter go. Bring on the tulips and frolicking bunnies! Of course, there's also ... spring cleaning. Let's get that out of the way early this year, yeah? You've probably got the standard chores like decluttering cabinets, cleaning grout and scrubbing the toilet on your to-do list. But when was the last time you cleaned your walls? It's not a task many of us think of, but it can really help your house sparkle. The extendable Chomp CleanWalls Tool has taken social media by storm thanks to its ability to get into high corners with ease, and it's on sale for $40. According to our price trackers, this cleaning gizmo hasn't dipped much lower in over a year, so if your walls could use some love, now would be a smart time to buy. Plus, you won't have to spend money on replacement heads every time you use it — the two it comes with are washable. Clocking in at under 1.5 pounds, the Chomp CleanWalls Tool is lightweight, yet extends as much as 5 feet to tackle hard-to-reach areas. It also comes with two reusable heads — one wet mitt and one dry — for targeting everything from stains and grime to dust and cobwebs. We love a versatile cleaning gadget! Just spritz some household cleaner onto the mitt (FYI, the brand has its own wall cleaner spray, sold separately). Then, go to town on unsightly marks and dust bunnies. The head's unique teardrop shape easily slides into corners and the grooves of molding and baseboards. Want to see it in action? Check out this TikTok, which shows it removing years' worth of orange stains from a smoker's house. When it's time to clean the heads, just toss them in the washer. Need more convincing that the Chomp CleanWalls Tool belongs in your cart? Here's what some of its 5,600 (and counting) five-star fans have to say. "I saw this product on social media and had to have it!" exclaimed an enthusiastic user. "It saves my back, and I clean my walls a lot more now! No cobwebs in my house! [It] works great at getting in all the corners of my rooms. I only have 8-foot ceilings, but it keeps me from reaching or getting on a ladder to clean my walls!" "I fell for it. I did. I got sucked in but this turned out to be one of those things that you never knew you needed," said another squeaky-clean shopper. "We have wood stoves and 11-foot ceilings. I was easily able to reach right up and get the crown moldings without getting a ladder. Phew. Oh and the cobwebs. I sprayed a little wall cleaner directly on the pad and went to work. Glad I got this. The kitchen ceiling is next." "I am a smoker, and when I moved out of my apartment, I used the Chomp spray with this," shared a third fan. "After I got done cleaning the walls, you couldn't tell I smoked in there. No smoke residue or discolored walls. When the inspector inspected the apartment, he couldn't even tell I smoked in there. This wall cleaner mop with the Chomp cleaner works wonders." One shopper had a fair critique of this doodad. "Wish it came with a twist-up and pull-out extension pole," they wrote. "It's too much to have to take the pole apart and [put it] back together to use." A final reviewer said the handle could be sturdier. "If you don't make sure that the handle is on snugly, it will come undone," they warned. "[The] handle can break easily, [and the] plastic attachment may break easily if applying too much pressure when washing your walls." P.S. Rather than shoving your new favorite wall cleaner (and all of your brooms) into a crammed closet, keep 'em neat and out of the way with this wall-mounted holder: If you have Amazon Prime, you'll get free shipping, of course. Not yet a member? No problem. You can sign up for your free 30-day trial here. (And by the way, those without Prime still get free shipping on orders of $35 or more.) The reviews quoted above reflect the most recent versions at the time of publication.
