2 children injured in Lauderhill apartment complex shooting, officials say
Two children were injured in a reported shooting Wednesday afternoon at an apartment complex in Lauderhill. The incident occurred in the 2000 block of NW 43rd Terrace. According to officials, Lauderhill Fire Rescue transported two pediatric patients to Broward Health. One child is in critical condition, while the other is listed as stable. Images from Chopper 4 showed several police officers walking near a playground area inside the complex. Another section was cordoned off with yellow police crime scene tape. At this time, police have not confirmed the circumstances surrounding the shooting. This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.

I-240 now open at I-35 following earlier crash

120-acre brush fire burning in Broward; crews working to contain flames
A large brush fire has erupted near US 27 and Griffin Road in Broward County, prompting a multi-agency firefighting response, officials said Wednesday evening. According to Davie Fire Rescue, suppression units from their department, the Florida Forest Service and Broward Sheriff's Office Fire Rescue are on the scene and actively working to bring the fire under control. As of 9 p.m., the fire had scorched approximately 120 acres, according to the Florida Forest Service's wildfire incident tracking system. CBS News Miami's Chopper 4 was over the scene and showed images of crews battling the fire.

Woman fatally shot in West Miami-Dade home, MDSO says
A woman was found shot to death inside a home in West Miami-Dade on Friday evening, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office. Deputies responded to reports of a person shot shortly after 5:30 p.m. in the 300 block of SW 79th Ave., just south of SW 2nd Street. When deputies arrived, they found an adult female with gunshot wounds, the sheriff's office said. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue pronounced the woman dead at the scene. The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office Homicide Bureau is leading the investigation. Detectives remained at the home late into the evening, speaking with neighbors and potential witnesses in an effort to determine what led to the deadly shooting. Chopper 4 captured aerial footage of the scene as three sheriff's office vehicles were parked outside the residence. Authorities have not identified the victim and no suspect information has been released. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers.
