Woman fatally shot in West Miami-Dade home, MDSO says
A woman was found shot to death inside a home in West Miami-Dade on Friday evening, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to reports of a person shot shortly after 5:30 p.m. in the 300 block of SW 79th Ave., just south of SW 2nd Street.
When deputies arrived, they found an adult female with gunshot wounds, the sheriff's office said. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office Homicide Bureau is leading the investigation.
Detectives remained at the home late into the evening, speaking with neighbors and potential witnesses in an effort to determine what led to the deadly shooting.
Chopper 4 captured aerial footage of the scene as three sheriff's office vehicles were parked outside the residence.
Authorities have not identified the victim and no suspect information has been released.

Not getting any money, Sierra-Hernandez forced the man to drive to several places for the next two hours before eventually releasing him unharmed. Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office detectives combed through surveillance video, which showed the attempted robbery at gunpoint. After putting up wanted fliers throughout the county, authorities arrested Sierra-Hernandez late Tuesday. As of Thursday night, he still remained in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

Miami Gardens crash during rush hour leaves one person dead, police say
A major crash in Miami Gardens left a person dead Thursday afternoon, police say. Just before 4 p.m., a Dodge Ram pick-up truck was driving up Northwest 22nd Avenue when, for unknown reasons, it collided with an unoccupied parked car in the 2100 block of Northwest 165 Street, Miami Gardens police said. The pick-up truck overturned and then hit another unoccupied park car, trapping the truck's owner inside. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue pronounced the driver, who was not identified, dead at the scene.
