WATSONVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Granite (NYSE:GVA) today announced that it has secured the second and third work packages, valued at approximately $160 million and $70 million, respectively, under a $230 million Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) contract for the Garnet Valley Wastewater System project. Awarded by the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA), this contract represents a key component of a broader $900 million infrastructure initiative in the Apex Industrial Park, developed in partnership with the City of North Las Vegas. These awards were reflected in Granite's 2024 fourth quarter CAP. 'Granite is well-positioned to deliver a successful project based on its nearly 30-year history in Las Vegas and its vast amount of collaborative delivery experience,' said Granite Vice President of Regional Operations Chris Burke. 'Strategic partnerships have been leveraged to ensure that Granite can satisfy this client's needs.' Southern Nevada maximizes its water resources by treating and recycling 99 percent of the water used indoors in its service area. Treating wastewater and returning it to Lake Mead extends Southern Nevada's water resources through return-flow credits. The construction of the Garnet Valley Wastewater System will help ensure the sustainable development of resources and reduce water demand impacts to the Colorado River. Project Scope Includes: 5 miles of gravity wastewater pipeline 11 miles of force-main 3 large lift stations Integration with City of North Las Vegas treatment facilities Construction began in June 2025 and is expected to be completed in December 2027. WATSONVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Granite (NYSE:GVA) is proud to announce its continued collaboration with the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) and Contri Construction Company through the award of the Rice Pumping Station & Pipeline Project—part of the Horizon Lateral Program. In partnership with Contri, Granite operates under the Southern Nevada Construction Partners (SNCP), a joint venture. The Horizon Lateral Program is a strategic initiative designed to enhance system reliability, redundancy, and long-term water delivery capabilities to SNWA facilities, serving the Las Vegas Valley Water District and the City of Henderson. The program is being delivered through a staged design and construction approach, with the Rice Pumping Station & Pipeline Project among the first to advance into detailed design and construction. The project scope includes the construction of a new 30 million gallons per day (MGD) pumping station at the existing Thomas Rice Reservoir and Pumping Station site. Additionally, a 21,000-linear-foot, 42-inch diameter steel water pipeline will be installed to convey water southwest to the Spring Mountain/Durango Reservoir site. Located in Tahoma, California, along the west shore of Lake Tahoe, this project represents Granite's first PDB contract in the state, marking a significant milestone for the company. Project funding is to come from local funding and a Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) grant and will be included in Granite's second-quarter CAP. 'Carson City is excited to partner with Granite to get construction underway on the 3rd of our major corridor complete streets projects,' said Darren Anderson, City Engineer at the Carson City Public Works Department. 'This project will upgrade the major gateway (East William Street) from the east to the downtown core of Carson City.' The East William Complete Street Project will revitalize a nearly 1.5-mile stretch of East William Street, converting it from a vehicle-dominated corridor into a multi-modal roadway. The redesigned corridor will accommodate drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians alike, promoting safer and more accessible transportation for all users.
