Brooke Shields reveals her daughter's surprising career choice
Brooke Shields has been telling her daughter to "never give up" as she pursues her own career. The 60-year-old actress - who has Rowan, 22, as well as 19-year-old Grief with her husband Chris Henchy - made her name with films such as Pretty Baby and Blue Lagoon but revealed that her eldest is actually set to go into the world of journalism and has already started making waves in the industry. She told E! News: "She wants to go into broadcast journalism and news. "She's been at different outlets. She's done their carpet stuff. She's so she's so appealing as a person. "I mean, I'm her mother, you know, but people love her, and they tell me all the time. They come out of the woodwork, like when I'm doing a morning show. "I just say, 'Never give up. Just keep going. She's going to be just fine." The former Hannah Montana star previously admitted that she actually got to "meet" her daughters all over again once they reached adulthood and moved out to make their own in the world, even though she was "terrified" at the thought of them leaving home. She told People: "I'm terrified to be an empty nester! All of a sudden, they're not yours anymore. When you realize they are their own human beings, you get to meet them again. To have them reveal themselves to you, it's a new type of relationship. I didn't mold them but I protected them enough so that they could become who they are, and I got out of the way. "They're going to have each other's back. They're both tough and strong-willed. The world is not going to undo them. I'm proud of who they are. I'm really going to miss them. I want to stay on the periphery but I'm also excited about what's ahead."

Brooke Shields reveals how her Tony Awards clutch bag has special connection to theatre
Brooke Shields took a clutch bag made from theatre curtains to the Tony Awards. The 60-year-old actress made an appearance at the annual ceremony honouring Broadway theatre on Sunday (08.06.25) evening at the Radio City Music Hall, and revealed that the red bag she carried with her was made from curtains that once hung at the famed venue before its renovation. She told PEOPLE: "When they renovated Radio City [Music Hall], like, 10 years ago, they tore down all the curtains, and then they made bags out of them, and my husband gave me — bought me a bag." The Blue Lagoon star - who has been married to Chris Henchy since 2001 and has daughters Rowan, 22, and 19-year-old Grier with him - has previosuly starred in productions of Grease, Cabaret, Chicago and The Addams Family over the course of her career, but thinks that she "never work on Broadway again" as she concentrates on her new role as president of Actors' Equity Association. Earlier this year, the former Hannah Montana star celebrated her milestone 60th birthday, and explained at the time that she hoped her book, Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old would spark fresh conversations about beauty ideals. She told Real Simple magazine: "I hope it opens up a conversation about what the ideals are and what beauty really means. The more I talked to women who are over 40, the more I realised that part of chasing youth is not just for themselves, but for other people. It's for partners, it's for the way you're looked at in public, and it's a dangerous, slippery slope. "We're not allowed to just grow and experience our life and be OK with it. "Beauty can come in different forms. It doesn't have to be associated with youth."

Rowan shared multiple family photos in honor of Shields' milestone birthday on Saturday, in addition to referring to her mom as 'everyone's favorite girl boss' in one slide. Grier, 19, called Shields 'the coolest mama I know' and shared a vintage picture of her mother kissing her as a baby. 'Happy birthday mama,' Grier added via her Instagram Story. The fit and fabulous actress' husband Chris Henchy, 61, surprised them all as they sat down to dinner to celebrate their daughter Grier's big day. Shields and both her daughters burst into tears when the Holmes & Watson producer walked into the room. He was apparently working on a project and not expected to attend the celebration. 'Dad of the century surprised @grierhenchy for her birthday… but really he surprised me and @rowanhenchy too!!!,' the actress explained next to the video. 'We all cried… he said it was just a flight ❤️.' The actress' husband Chris Henchy, 61, surprised them all as they sat down to dinner to celebrate their daughter Grier's big day Shields didn't let her fans hear the private conversation, but instead used John Mayer's song Daughters for the audio, adding to the emotion.
