Vitality Blast, CardiffSurrey 149-8 (20 ov): Roy 69; Douthwaite 3-23Glamorgan 142 (20 ov): Carlson 31; S Curran 3-18, Jordan 3-31Match scorecard Jason Roy's 69 off 47 balls proved a match-winning innings as Surrey successfully defended a modest target of 150 in a seven-run victory over home side started brightly with Kiran Carlson (31) and Will Smale (26) adding 58, but Surrey's bowlers squeezed expertly and Glamorgan fell away to 142 all Curran took 3-18 on his 27th birthday, expertly backed up by Kiwi Nathan Smith (2-21) and Chris Jordan (3-31) as Glamorgan provided a series of catches on the wide square England batter Roy played a lone hand for Surrey, striking four sixes in his key knock as they were kept down to Douthwaite (3-23 in four) led a tidy Glamorgan bowling performance, while Andy Gorvin claimed two wickets, two catches and a runout. Roy's colleagues could not match his strike-rate as Ollie Pope fell early to Douthwaite and Dom Sibley, opening out on 26 after a slow start, gave Gorvin another catch in the deep off Ben 12th over from Gorvin proved eventful as Roy hoisted the first ball over long-on into the river Taff, only for birthday boy Sam Curran and Laurie Evans to hole out to Asa Tribe at long-off trying to repeat the the bowling of Gorvin, Douthwaite and Kellaway, Surrey always looked capable of posting a decent total as long as Roy was there, especially after his previous 92 against he was caught on the ropes in the 18th over off Timm van der Gugten and Surrey looked a touch below looked even more the case as Carlson and Smale (26) posted an opening stand of 58 in seven overs, before sixth bowler Chris Jordan made the breakthrough as Carlson was caught behind. Ben Kellaway (13) hit three fours off his first six balls before being caught on the boundary off Yousef Majid, and Glamorgan were exactly halfway to their target on 75-2 in 10 overs. But Smith, one of eight internationals in the visitors' ranks, applied the brakes to Glamorgan's chase as Smale chipped a catch and Colin Ingram was caught at deep cover for bowled tightly before taking a key outfield catch as danger man Douthwaite (14) got under a slower ball from Sam Curran, with Glamorgan unable to find the shorter straight boundaries. Wickets fell regularly through the second half as Surrey's hopes soared, and Glamorgan could not regain any momentum before being bowled out off the final ball of their innings, the result looking inevitable in the closing stages.

PSL to finish rest of season in UAE
Thursday's match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings, due to be held in Rawalpindi, was postponed [Getty Images] The Pakistan Super League will move the remaining matches of the season to the United Arab Emirates amid the ongoing tensions between Pakistan and India. Pakistan says 31 people have been killed and 57 injured by air strikes in the country and Pakistan-administered Kashmir since Wednesday morning as India responds to a deadly militant attack on Indian tourists in Kashmir last month. Advertisement Earlier on Thursday, the match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings, due to be held in Rawalpindi, was postponed after Pakistan's military said Indian drones were destroyed in various Pakistan cities. A Pakistan Cricket Board official told BBC Sport one drone misfired and led to an explosion in the street behind the stadium in Rawalpindi. The BBC has been unable to verify these claims. The PSL had been looking at all options for the remainder of the campaign, including halting the tournament for a number of weeks. The exact schedule for the rest of the tournament, including dates and venues in the UAE, has yet to be confirmed. Advertisement Players at the PSL, including those from England, took part in an emergency meeting held by tournament organisers on Thursday. James Vince, Chris Jordan, Tom Curran, David Willey, Sam Billings, Luke Wood and Tom Kohler-Cadmore are the English players involved in the PSL, while there are also English coaches at various franchises. PSL organisers remain keen for the tournament, which has eight fixtures outstanding, to be completed, but the safety of players remains their priority. A senior Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official told BBC Sport: "If Rawalpindi is not safe, Lahore and Karachi are not safe because drones also attacked there. Any city of Pakistan is not safe because the drones have targeted smaller cities of Pakistan." Advertisement The seven English players held separate discussions over whether to return to the UK, with a split in opinion over whether to remain. Talks took place with the Professional Cricketers' Association (PCA) on Wednesday to discuss the situation. It is understood feelings among those in Pakistan were mixed. Other leading overseas names in the PSL include Australian David Warner (Karachi Kings) and former West Indies captain Jason Holder (Islamabad United). The UK foreign office currently advises against all but essential travel within five miles of the international border between Pakistan and India. Advertisement The Indian Premier League match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals began as planned in Dharamsala on Thursday, but was called off after 10.1 overs after the floodlights went out. Sunday's match between the Kings and Mumbai Indians has been moved from Dharamsala to Ahmedabad. Dharamsala is in the state of Himachal Pradesh, which borders Kashmir, and flights were cancelled to its airport on Wednesday, making it difficult for Mumbai Indians to travel. "The venue change has been necessitated due to logistical challenges," India's cricket board (BCCI) said in a statement. Twenty-six civilians were killed in Indian-administered Kashmir last month and India has accused Pakistan of supporting militants behind the attack - an allegation the neighbouring country has rejected. The situation escalated on Tuesday evening when India launched a series of strikes in a move named "Operation Sindoor".

PSL shifted to UAE, day after Rawalpindi stadium attack; rising India-Pakistan escalations trigger concerns
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been urgently moved to the United Arab Emirates just a day after a suspected drone attack near Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium disrupted play and heightened fears for player safety. As tensions between India and Pakistan flare following India's Operation Sindoor and retaliatory strikes, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the relocation amid growing security concerns. Rawalpindi explosion halts play, sparks panic Thursday's scheduled match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings was abruptly postponed after a loud explosion occurred behind the stadium in Rawalpindi. Pakistan's military later claimed to have intercepted Indian drones across multiple cities, including Rawalpindi, where one allegedly misfired. Though the claims remain unverified, the incident sent shockwaves through the cricketing community, prompting immediate security reviews. PCB: "No city is safe anymore" In an emergency briefing, a senior PCB official acknowledged that the threat had escalated beyond Rawalpindi, 'if Rawalpindi is not safe, then neither is Lahore or Karachi. Drones have hit smaller cities too — no part of Pakistan can be guaranteed secure at this point.' This realization led to swift discussions on either pausing the tournament or shifting it abroad. UAE chosen as safe haven for remaining fixtures After weighing multiple options, the PCB confirmed the remainder of the PSL season — eight matches in total — will be hosted in the UAE. The country, which has previously served as a temporary home for Pakistan cricket, was chosen for its infrastructure and proven security arrangements. Venues and new match dates are expected to be announced shortly, but planning is already underway to transition teams and personnel to the Gulf state. The decision follows intense meetings involving players from England, Australia, and the West Indies. England's James Vince, Chris Jordan, and David Willey, among others, were reportedly split on whether to stay or leave. Australian opener David Warner and former West Indies captain Jason Holder were also involved in safety consultations, with input from the Professional Cricketers' Association (PCA). India also feels impact of crisis The instability is not limited to Pakistan. In India, a Punjab Kings match in Dharamsala was stopped midway due to the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan.
