Huge fire tears through Erith warehouse as 150 firefighters battle flames overnight
A huge blaze ripped through a scrapyard warehouse in Erith last night, sending thick smoke billowing across the area as 150 firefighters battled to bring it under control.
London Fire Brigade was called at 10.47pm to reports of a fire on Maypole Crescent.
Crews from Bexley, Erith, Plumstead, East Greenwich, Sidcup and surrounding stations responded.
Twenty-five fire engines attended the scene, where a single-storey warehouse within a scrapyard was alight, along with three diggers and numerous vehicles.

There were no reports of any injuries.
Two 32-metre turntable ladders were used to fight the fire from above and assess the situation from a higher vantage point.
One of the Brigade's fire boats was also sent to assist, using its remote-operated water monitors to pump 2,500 litres of water per minute from the Thames.
The fire was brought under control by 6.52am this morning.
Residents living nearby were advised to keep windows and doors closed throughout the night due to the volume of smoke.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
