WATCH: C.J. Stroud throws first TD pass of preseason to Nico Collins
A 7-12 connection for six? Yeah, the Houston Texans are back and acting like they never left. The Pro Bowlers moved their way down the field to secure a 7-0 lead on a 6-yard touchdown reception over the Carolina Panthers in the first quarter of the second preseason game. Collins also caught a pass for an 8-yard pass for a first down at midfield. Christian Kirk was impressive with two catches for 13 yards, while running back Nick Chubb totaled 23 yards on the drive. Jayden Higgins, the Texans' first pick in April's NFL Draft, made an impressive diving grab for a 14-yard pickup while in coverage against Michael Jackson. But the 4th-and-goal out route to No. 12 was the money maker Houston fans wanted to see for the first time this season. Relive the moment below! With that touchdown pass, Houston's starters at the skill position are done for the afternoon. Stroud finished 6-of-8 for 44 yards and a touchdown, while Chubb totaled 25 yards on five carries and averaged 5.0 yards per play. Collins caught two passes for 14 yards. Christian Kirk fantasy football preview 2025: Stats, season outlook, predictions
Rotoworld Staff, Christian Kirk 2025 Fantasy Preview 2024: Kirk missed much of the 2024 regular season after sustaining a broken collarbone in October, finishing the year with 27 catches for 379 yards and one touchdown on 47 targets. He operated mostly from the slot and ranked 43rd out of 116 qualifying wideouts in ESPN's open score, which measures a player's ability to separate from defenders. What's changed: The Texans acquired Kirk from the Jaguars. They parted ways with Stefon Diggs and will be without Tank Dell (knee) in 2025. The team also drafted WR Jaylin Noel and WR Jayden Higgins out of Iowa State. Outlook: Kirk during offseason practices has profiled as C.J. Stroud's 'safety blanket,' according to Texans beat writers. Kirk should function as the primary slot guy in Houston's balanced offense. He could, however, face competition for slot routes from rookie Noel, who excelled as a slot receiver at Iowa State before being taken in the third round of the 2025 draft. Kirk played well ahead of Houston's rookie wideouts in offseason practices, per beat writers. Kirk could be a viable WR3 option in 12-team leagues as Stroud's No. 2 target. WATCH: Texans arrive at U.S. Bank Stadium for preseason Game 1
The Houston Texans are ready for action on Saturday afternoon, hoping to set the tone against the Minnesota Vikings at U.S Bank Stadium. Pro Bowl quarterback C.J. Stroud and new wide receiver Christian Kirk were seen arriving at the stadium ahead of kickoff. Here's a shot of the new duo getting ready to begin practice, though neither player is expected to start on Saturday. The Texans and Vikings should both take a cautious approach when it comes to their starters, though Minnesota does plan on seeing first-team reps for J.J. McCarthy after watching the first-round pick miss his entire rookie season. That doesn't mean he'll play the entire game, but he'll need to feel comfortable inside the pocket is he plans on making the ideal jump toward frontline starter status. As for Houston? Coach DeMeco Ryans mentioned that the younger starters would see action. That means that offensive lineman Tay Ersery, the projected starting right tackle, wide receiver Jaylin Noel, who's fighting for first-team reps in the slot, and Jayden Higgins, the newest name on the outside, are expected to see action. "Everybody's kind of on their own plan," Ryans said. "We'll have a handful of guys who won't see time at all. Then we'll have a certain group of guys who are limited. So, it's just a lot of different guys in different categories there." As for Kirk and Stroud, they're expected to see a majority of their "gotta have reps" during next week's preseason joint practice against the Carolina Panthers at the Methodist Training Center. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. This article originally appeared on Texans Wire: WATCH: Texans arrive at U.S. Bank Stadium for preseason Game 1

Is Texas A&M's next 1,000-yard receiver on the 2025 roster?
Texas A&M's lack of passing production under former head coach Jimbo Fisher was notable and highly disappointing, as the Aggies have yet to produce a 1,000-yard wide receiver since the 2016 season, when Josh Reynolds reeled in 1,039 yards and 12 touchdowns. Even with standout receivers like Christian Kirk and Evan Stewart on the roster, this issue was one of the many reasons Fisher was not retained after the 2023 campaign. This season, second-year head coach Mike Elko, OC Collin Klein, and WR coach Holmon Wiggins are counting on former NC State standout KC Concepcion to lead the offense and become starting quarterback Marcel Reed's go-to target. While staying healthy is the No. 1 goal, Concepcion's speed and elite quickness, along with his ability to gain chunk yards after the catch, make him a likely candidate to lead the Aggies in several categories, including receiving yards. Still, predicting a 1,000-yard receiver is nearly impossible during the preseason. Still, out of every wide receiver on the 2025 roster, Concepcion looks like the player who could break the almost 10-year streak, especially if Marcel Reed expands his throw game and begins pushing the ball down the field. For those interested, here are the leading receivers for Texas A&M since Josh Reynolds' final season with the program. Outside of Christian Kirk, Jhamon Ausbon, and tight end Jace Sterberger, who were close to eclipsing the 1,000-yard mark, Concepcion is more than talented enough with two years, and a combined 1,299 yards receiving at NC State, including 839 yards during the 2023 season.
