Everything to Know About Wednesday's Season 2 on Netflix: From Story Lines to Returning Cast Members

Netflix's Wednesday introduced viewers to a new version of Wednesday Addams — and her story is only getting started. The series, which premiered in November 2022, explores the iconic character (Jenna Ortega) as she attempts to master her psychic powers at Nevermore Academy while dealing with a killing spree at the hands of a mysterious monster. The series also starred Christina Ricci, who famously rose to stardom playing Wednesday in the '90s films The Addams Family and Addams Family Values. Her character, Marilyn Thornhill, was revealed to be one of the season's villains, Laurel Gates, who sought revenge against Nevermore Academy for her family's failed attempts to take down outcasts Following season 1's premiere, creators Miles Millar and Alfred Gough opened up about how they mapped out the rest of the series. "For us, it's always looking at the future, and when we sit down to create a show, it's looking at multiple seasons, ideally," they explained to Variety. The pair also addressed the overwhelming support from new and old fans, saying, "That's never expected, but that's the anticipation that hopefully the show is successful. So you always lay out at least three or four seasons' worth of potential storylines for the characters. It can evolve and change. We certainly have a pretty clear runway of what we want to do in future seasons." Scroll down for everything we know about Wednesday's second season:

TV show that 'gave fans nightmares' just got renewed for season 4

One of the creepiest shows on the air has just been renewed for a fourth season on Paramount Plus. Yellowjackets is a coming-of-age meets cannibalism saga that sees a women's football team fly to compete at nationals, when their plane crashes in the wilderness, postcode: middle of nowhere. Starring a stand-out cast including Christina Ricci and Melanie Lynskey, the show operates at two timelines: the women in middle-age still reckoning with the traumatic longtail of what they did to survive, alongside flashbacks to their younger selves stranded in the woods. The third season sees the teenage survivors approaching their second winter in the wilderness, when the proverbial really starts to hit the fan. The finale finally answered the question of Pit Girl's identity – who we see in the show's very first flashforward scene – as well as several other lingering questions to leave fans on a cliffhanger in both timelines. Paramount Plus and Showtime have now confirmed Yellowjackets will return for a fourth season, after the latest finale shattered records with three million cross-platform viewers worldwide in its first seven days. Chris McCarthy, co-CEO of Paramount Global and President of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios said in a statement announcing the renewal: '[Co-creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson] have masterfully crafted an utterly singular, genre-defying phenomenon. 'A perfect alchemy of psychological horror, survival thriller and coming-of-age drama that continues to captivate audiences worldwide, brought to life by our extraordinarily talented and beloved cast.' The renewal is in line with the original plans for the show, which was pitched as a five-season arc Lyle recently said they're 'still on track for'. She told EW: 'We don't really see this as being more than a five-season show. I think that there are shows that can go forever, but I think that when you're telling such a deeply serialized story and it's about these characters' lives, you want to reach a satisfying conclusion and not just drag things out forever.' The show has already proved to be a juggernaut among viewers, breeding rampant online discourse of theories and Easter egg hunts. But it's certainly not one for the squeamish or pearl-clutchers. TV fans have shared their (spoiler free) thoughts on X (formerly Twitter), with many noting how creepy ther show can turn. @thirty4seventy5 wrote: 'Finished 2 seasons in a week. ‘Matlock' Star Kathy Bates Admits She Scrolls Reddit For Fan Reactions

If you're a Redditor commenting on the latest Matlock episodes, know that series star Kathy Bates might be reading. Bates was joined by showrunner and executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman on Saturday afternoon on a panel to discuss the hot CBS series at Deadline's Contenders TV event, where she revealed she has read some fan reactions. More from Deadline Deadline Studio At Contenders Television 2025: Brandon Sklenar, Christina Ricci, Elisabeth Moss, Ellen Pompeo, Bella Ramsey & More Deadline Contenders Television 2025 Arrivals Gallery: Ellen Pompeo, Bella Ramsey, Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Paul Feig & More Authenticity As Important As Comedy To 'Going Dutch' Star & Producer Denis Leary - Contenders TV 'There was a comment on the Reddit board about last week's episode,' the two-time Emmy winner and 14-time nominee began as the audience gasped that she peeks at the forum site. 'I'm not allowed to read Instagram or Reddit because I could see a gazillion wonderful things, then I'll see one negative thing, and that's what I'll pick up on. Although I hear that it's very human, so it makes me feel better.' RELATED: She continued by referencing Snyder Urman, 'there was [a comment] that she read about a woman who was on a jury, and last week's episode had to do with the woman who had been on a jury and who was bullied so much that she ended up caving when the man really was innocent and had been in prison for 21 years. This woman on the Reddit board said it really hit her hard because she had the same experience of being on a jury like that. So as a result of that, when she goes in to be called for jury duty, she explains this, and they don't take her.' Both Bates and Snyder Urman celebrated Skye P. Marshall, who plays Olympia Lawrence on the Thursday night series, for her excellent work and what she brings to the project both as a person and an actor. 'I just love her,' said Bates. 'We had chemistry read with about four actresses [for the Olympia role], and when she came in, she was just larger than life and gorgeous, and just very open and eager and of course, just brilliantly talented. I wish she were here because she's had a long road to this magnificent explosion now with Matlock. It's been so wonderful to see all of that happening for her.' She added, 'But also the power [she brings] in the pilot. She has a big monologue, which has to do with this race-based case, and she calls Maddie on it. When we shot that, I was on the other side of that power coming from her. I just thought: 'OK, now we've got a show. We've got two strong women who can duke it out and who can fall in love with each other. That's what the series, I think, is. The nugget is this rare relationship that we celebrate.' In addition to sharing her social media habits, Bates revealed she will be directing an episode of Matlock next season, her first time in nearly 22 years, since she directed in the Season 3 episode of HBO's hit drama Six Feet Under. 'I'm very excited,' she shared. Bates stars as Madeline 'Matty' Matlock, a brilliant septuagenarian who achieved success in her younger years and decides to rejoin the work force at a prestigious law firm where she uses her unassuming demeanor and wily tactics to win cases. Matty is assigned to Olympia, a senior attorney and key rainmaker with a thirst for justice. Olympia's ex-husband, Julian (Jason Ritter), the son of the head of the firm (Bridges), is intrigued by Matty and her clever skills. Christina Ricci Got Through Rough Times by Talking to Birds

Christina Ricci has been drawn to dark roles and morbid plotlines since she was in elementary school. After making her debut at 9 in 'Mermaids,' Ricci has played the witch Katrina in 'Sleepy Hollow,' a haunted teen in 'Casper' and, most recently, outcast Misty Quigley in 'Yellowjackets.' 'I prefer to play complicated people because happy people don't generally do much. They're complacent,' Ricci, 45, says. The most interesting characters, she said, 'usually have to be motivated by some unhappiness or dissatisfaction.'

Dodge Might Be Bringing Back Its Legendary Hemi V-8 Engine

One of the most beloved internal combustion engines in American automotive history is coming back from the dead. Stellantis, the multi-national conglomerate that owns Dodge and Ram, looks to have changed its mind about the Hemi V-8. The company will reportedly reintroduce the eight-cylinder mill later this year. More from Robb Report Christina Ricci's Scenic L.A. Home Is Back on the Market for $4.2 Million This Rare Bottle of Pappy Van Winkle Just Set a New Auction Record for American Whiskey This $51 Million Penthouse Atop Dubai's Burj Khalifa Sits Above the Clouds News of the legendary engine going back into production was broken by Moparinsiders. The website, which primarily covers Stellantis brands, reports that production of the eight-cylinder powertrain will resume at the company's Dundee Engine Plant in Michigan in August. The automaker isn't just bringing back one version of the engine—most famous for its use in Dodge's muscle cars—but the whole family. That includes the 5.7-liter Hemi, the 6.4-liter 'Apache' (often referred to as the '392'), and the supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat. Hemis were previously built at a different Stellantis factory in Saltillo, Mexico. Earlier this decade, production of the engine began to wind down so that it could be replaced by the twin-turbocharged 'Hurricane' inline-six, which is used in the non-electric versions of the Dodge Charger Daytona and Ram 1500 REV. The assumption was that once the existing stock of the V-8 had been exhausted it would be done once and for all. As of the 2025 model year, the engine was still available in the Ram Heavy Duty pickup and Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat. But, the V-8 received a second chance at life late last year when Carlos Tavares abruptly resigned as Stellantis CEO, according to Car and Driver. Within days, Tim Kuniskis, the godfather of the Hellcat V-8, returned as head of Ram, months after having retired as CEO of the truck maker and Dodge. Since then, there has been much speculation that the V-8 would return—and it would appear those rumors are correct. A representative for Stellantis did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Robb Report. As exciting as news of the Hemi's comeback may be to some, there are at least some enthusiasts unlikely to be pleased by the development. A group of 2021 Durango Hellcat owners are currently involved in a legal battle with Dodge over the SUV because it has not turned out to be the one-and-done model it was initially touted as, according to Road & Track. With the Hemi V-8 set to be reintroduced, it's not hard to imagine the high-performance variant remaining in production for at least a little while longer.
