Police tape is seen around a home on Shore Road in Whitney Pier, N.S., on Feb. 24, 2025, after a man's shooting death. (Ryan MacDonald/CTV Atlantic) A fourth person has been charged in connection with the shooting death of a 44-year-old man in Whitney Pier, N.S., earlier this year. Christopher Anderson Neville, 49, was arrested in Halifax on Thursday. He has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Jeffrey Pearson and will appear in provincial court on Friday. Cape Breton Regional Police Service responded to a home on Shore Road around 12:45 a.m. on Feb. 22, after multiple gunshots were reported in the area. A man was reported running from the home and a white truck was spotting leaving the scene. An officer tried to stop the truck on Cow Bay Road in Sydney and the people inside allegedly fled into a nearby wooded area. Three men were found in an apartment complex and arrested. An emergency alert was also activated as police tried to find the suspects. Police announced the next day that 27-year-old Mal Chol, Goaner Mark Tut, 20, and Letjor Geng, 19, were charged with first-degree murder in Pearson's death. All three were from outside the Maritimes and known to police. 'To maintain the integrity of Court proceedings, no additional details can be released about the investigation,' Cape Breton Regional Police said in a news release.
