The goals came from Emmanuel Ewala (3'), Julien Ngoyi (41'), Christopher John (55'), and Hussein Ashkanani (88'). Al-Arabi joins Kuwait Club in the tournament, which kicks off in October, with the group stage draw scheduled for August 28. In the second half, Al-Arabi continued its pressure, and Christopher John scored a powerful strike in the 55th minute to make it 3-0. KUWAIT CITY, July 29: Al-Arabi Club officially announced the signing of their fifth foreign player, Belgian striker of Congolese descent Julian Ngoyi, who joins from Belgian side Mechelen to strengthen the team's attacking options for the upcoming season. At 27 years old, Ngoyi is versatile, capable of playing both as a central striker and on the wings. His career includes stints in England, Switzerland, Turkey, and Belgium, having represented clubs such as Stoke City, Swindon Town, Grasshopper Club Zürich, Union Saint-Gilloise, and Kasimpasa. Ngoyi has also featured for Belgium's youth national teams, including five appearances for the U21 side. Ngoyi becomes the fifth foreign professional in Al-Arabi's squad, joining French-Guinean Hassimi Fadiga, Ugandan Kenneth Ssemakula, and Nigerians Ayano Ewuala and Christopher John. Meanwhile, with the departures of Hassan Hamdan and Algerian Sofiane Bouchare, Portuguese coach Marco Alves is keen on signing a new defender. Jordanian international Abdullah Nassib is reportedly on Al-Arabi's shortlist for the position, though he has also attracted offers from Iraqi clubs Al-Zawraa and Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya. Should Al-Arabi finalize a deal with Nassib or another defender, Nigerian Christopher John is expected to leave the club ahead of the new season. Al-Arabi is currently training twice daily at its camp in Abu Dhabi, which began last week. The team will hold a final training session this evening ahead of their season opener tomorrow against UAE side Hatta Club. The squad is preparing for an August 12 playoff match against Maldivian club Maziya S&RC, part of the Asian Challenge League, to be held in the Maldives. Before departing for the Maldives on August 8, Al-Arabi will play a friendly against the UAE's Baniyas Club on August 6. Coach Alves is emphasizing training in humid conditions to help players acclimate to the high humidity typical of the Maldives throughout much of the year.

Al-Arabi eyes Jordan's Al-Alwan after signing Simakola and Fadiga
KUWAIT CITY, July 16: Al-Arabi strengthened its squad ahead of the new season by signing two key foreign players: Ugandan international Kenneth Simakola and French-Guinean midfielder Hassimi Fadiga. They join the club's existing foreign professionals, Nigerians Aiyanu Iwuala and Christopher John. Meanwhile, negotiations are underway with Jordanian international Ali Al-Alwan, who has also attracted interest from Iraqi club Al-Zawraa. Simakola, 22, played last season for Tunisia's Club Africain and has experience with several African clubs, including Villa SC, BUL FC, Gaddafi FC, and Sopuya United. Primarily a defensive midfielder, he can also play as a center-back or right-back. A right-footed player, Simakola has been a part of the Ugandan national team since 2022, earning 19 caps to date. Fadiga, 28, is an attacking midfielder versatile enough to operate on either wing. He has competed in various tiers of French football and recently played for Levski Sofia in Bulgaria's top division, where he appeared in 51 matches, scoring 7 goals and assisting twice. Al-Arabi commenced its pre-season training two days ago, with 20 players participating in the first session. Portuguese coach Marco Alves led the training, supported by his technical team. New signing Hamad Al-Harbi also took part in his debut session with the club. The team will continue training until it embarks on a two-week training camp in the UAE starting July 25, during which it will play three friendly matches. Afterwards, Al-Arabi will travel to the Maldives for a crucial AFC Challenge League playoff against Maziya Sports Club on August 12, a decisive match for progression to the group stage. Club official Abdullah Al-Hayri thanked the players for their dedication at the opening training and confirmed that Nigerian forward Christopher John is expected to join the squad today, with Fadiga arriving tomorrow. Al-Hayri expressed strong confidence in coach Alves, stating, 'The management trusts the coach fully. He brings valuable experience, and we have seen lesser-known coaches succeed here in Kuwait.' Alves has already reviewed over ten of Al-Arabi's matches from last season and is well-acquainted with the squad's strengths and weaknesses. In a notable development, Khaled Al-Qabandi resigned from his position as Head of Football Operations due to personal reasons. A replacement has yet to be announced. Al-Qabandi remarked, 'I gave my all last season, but due to other commitments, I have decided to step down and allow someone else to take over.'

Watch: Influencer Faces Backlash For Filming Woman With Hidden Camera
Last Updated: In the video, an influencer, shirtless, is seen engaging in a conversation with a local woman, apparently unaware of being filmed. While the digital age has brought countless advantages—from seamless communication to enhanced access to information and economic growth—it has also opened the door to new forms of criminal behaviour. Identity theft, cybercrime, online fraud and unauthorised surveillance are now growing concerns. One such incident has sparked intense debate online after a video showed an influencer being confronted by locals for allegedly recording a woman without her consent using AI-enabled smart glasses. In the viral clip, the influencer—shirtless and known online as 'rizzzcam" (real name Christopher John)—is seen striking up a conversation with a local woman. Unaware that she is being filmed, the woman mentions she has a boyfriend, while the influencer continues probing her about the dating scene. As the discussion started, a passer-by wearing a plaid shirt noticed something and promptly interfered. The man, repeatedly pointing at the glasses and yelling 'camera," shouted out the recording. The woman quickly moved away as the situation between John and the bystander worsened. 'I've been waiting for this," the local guy said while trying to grab the smart glasses. John resisted and moved away from him. 'You're that dude, right?" says the passer-by. 'You guys are creeping on those girls over here, that's you right?" He further asked the influencer to move away from the location. 'Go to the other street out of respect for the locals." Taking to Instagram, John himself posted the video on his page with the caption calling it an example of how to 'de-escalate a situation." 'Sometimes people will try to get a reaction out of you on stream – but the meat move is not to react at all. Stay grounded, stay calm," he mentioned. 'Need more guys like this what a legend. That's exactly how the woman you harass for your weird a** content feel," a comment reads. A person wrote, 'Put on a shirt and stop harassing people for terrible content." The clip has got more than 1.7 crore views since it was shared online. Looking at his profile, John often shares 'point-of-view' videos of approaching women in public to talk about dating. A viral video has reignited online discussions about privacy and digital consent after a man was confronted for secretly filming a woman on the street using Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses. The man, known online as 'rizzzcam' star Christopher John, was seen engaging a woman in conversation, apparently unaware she was being filmed. As the interaction played out, a passer-by in a plaid shirt noticed what was happening and quickly intervened. Repeatedly pointing at the glasses and saying 'camera,' the man called out the recording. The woman swiftly walked away while the situation escalated between John and the bystander.
