Chrizmie Mostert represents SA at Botswana Pageant finale
Newcastle's own beauty queen and rising star, Chrizmie Mostert, continues to make her town and country proud by taking her first international steps in her official capacity as Miss Teen Universe South Africa 2025.
Chrizmie was invited to attend the prestigious Miss Teen Universe Botswana Grand Finale Crowning, which took place on August 2 in Gaborone, Botswana.
The event marked a significant milestone for the 15-year-old titleholder, who described the experience as 'truly memorable'.
During the glamorous evening, Chrizmie had the honour of officially handing over some of the special awards and provincial titles on stage, alongside fellow Miss Teen Universe South Africa (MTUSA) titleholders.
The Miss Teen Botswana organisation rolled out the red carpet for the South African delegates, marking the occasion as a celebration of unity and a shared commitment to empowering young women across Africa.
In a proud moment for the Newcastle-born teen, Chrizmie also received her official South African blazer – a symbol of national representation and excellence.
The blazer is awarded to those who represent South Africa on international platforms — a moment that Chrizmie says she'll never forget.
'Wearing the blazer and receiving it in Botswana made it all feel real. I'm so honoured to fly the South African flag high and represent our country with pride. This is more than just a title—it's a responsibility and an incredible honour,' she said.
The trip also offered a uniquely African experience that left a lasting impression on Chrizmie.
'While travelling in Botswana, I witnessed a troop of elephants walking next to the road — apparently migrating. Seeing these majestic animals in their natural habitat was spectacular. It's a rare moment that I'll carry with me forever,' she said.
Next on Chrizmie's journey is the Miss Teen Universe World Pageant, where she will represent South Africa on the global stage. The competition will take place in India from October 9-19.
As she prepares for this next chapter, her community and the country stand firmly behind her.
Chrizmie continues to inspire young South Africans with her grace, humility, and patriotism. As she embarks on more international duties in her reign, her hometown of Newcastle and the nation, will no doubt be cheering her on every step of the way.
