From spicy wings to sticky sausages – Bray's Beach BBQ Festival really sizzles
Actually two days. From Saturday, July 19 to Sunday, July 20, from 11am to 7pm, where a DJ took over to keep the crowds entertained into the evening.
Bray's beach was transformed into a real food fest, with everything on offer from ribs, burgers and all kinds of sausages, to ample vegan and veggie options to suit all tastes. The BBQ demo stage also served up top tips and inspiration for the DIY BBQ fanatics, as well as live cooking displays from some of the best grillers in the country.
This year also saw the inaugural 'Hot Dog Eating Challenge', which is exactly what it says it is – participants racing against time to gorge on hot dogs. And for those serious thrill-seekers, no BBQ Festival is worth its salt without the Hot Wings Challenge (bigger, bolder, and spicier than ever apparently), which, again, is exactly what it says it is –thrill-seekers gorging on chicken wings.
Thank God then there was the opportunity to cool off with a mocktail at the Salty Cove Bar. And remember, summer in Bray is not over just yet – do mark your diaries for the popular Chrome Classic Car & Bike Show, which revs into Bray Seafront on Sunday, July 27.
