Yasser and his family with the Proton 7 that he won in the lucky draw. A NATIONWIDE campaign open to Sogo shoppers and Bank Islam cardholders earlier this year drew 25,000 entries. It offered over RM128,000 in prizes, including a Proton 7 as the grand prize, a Blueshark R1 electric scooter for the second prize and RM3,000 worth of Sogo gift vouchers for three lucky winners. The 'Jom Balik Kampung Bersama Sogo & Bank Islam' campaign was held across Sogo's four locations in Kuala Lumpur, Central i-City (Shah Alam), Mid Valley Southkey (Johor) and Mayang Mall (Terengganu). Shoppers who spent a minimum of RM150 in a single receipt at any Sogo store were eligible to participate, with Bank Islam cardholders receiving two additional entry forms with the qualifying spend. Winners were selected through a random draw witnessed by Sogo Malaysia corporate planning head Chuah Eng Khoon and Bank Islam card business head Ahdan Shariff Muhammad. Prizes were presented during a ceremony at Sogo KL. The grand prize of a Proton 7 went to Yasser Araffat Muhd Dahaban, 47, from KL. Yasser, who works as a section head at an oil and gas company in Saudi Arabia, said the win came as a complete surprise. 'I was already shopping at Sogo and used my Bank Islam credit card that granted me two forms. 'I never expected to win the grand prize. 'When I got the phone call from Sogo, I was so shocked,' said Yasser, who plans to give the car to his mother. He said initiatives like these help strengthen the relationship between brands and their customers. 'It's important for big companies to give back to their customers through lucky draws and prizes like these. 'More companies should follow Sogo and Bank Islam's example,' said Yasser. Syahira Ali from Kuala Tereng­­ganu won the second prize while the third prize vouchers went to Siti Kohlijah Bahari (Kuala Terengganu), Manishajeet Kaur (KL) and Goh Chiew Lan (Johor Baru). Sogo Malaysia said the campaign underscored its commitment to recognising and rewarding customer loyalty while continuing to provide meaningful and engaging shopping experiences.
