Chuck Todd to Launch Sunday Politics Show at Noosphere

Chuck Todd will be talking politics on Sundays again, but this time the former 'Meet the Press' host will be doing it on a new show on Noosphere, a recently-launched mobile news platform. The new show, dubbed 'Sunday Night with Chuck Todd,' was announced on Tuesday and will start streaming on the app next month. Todd's show will feature 'candid, face-to-face interviews with influential Washington newsmakers from iconic social spots,' according to the company's announcement. The show will aim to blend an in-depth look at the current political landscape with a 'fresh, social setting' for Todd and his guests to discuss the latest news. 'I could not be more excited about launching a new show with real conversations, in person, that cut through so much noise and loud opinion at a moment when it's needed the most,' Todd said in a statement. He continued: 'The show offers us a chance to break out of both network studios and home-based zoom calls, to where we can see people face to face in normal environments, and come to learn from one another what's really happening in Washington DC at this crucial time.' Terms of Todd's deal with Noosphere were not disclosed. His show will be executive produced by Yvette Vega, who was previously the EP on Charlie Rose's PBS program. Noosphere was founded last year by Jane Ferguson, a reporter for PBS and The New Yorker, and Sebastian Walker, the former Washington, D.C. bureau chief for Vice News. The platform aims to be the go-to spot for readers and viewers to find their favorite independent journalists; its app costs $19.99 per month. Todd lands at Noosphere after he left NBC, where he was the chief political analyst, earlier this year. He was at the network for 18 years and was the moderator on 'Meet the Press' from 2014 to 2023. Between leaving NBC and joining Noosphere, Todd has found a way to generate some news. Last month, he said the mainstream media was scared it would be perceived as 'helping Trump' if it reported on former President Joe Biden's cognitive decline. 'The only thing I can chalk it up to is this, whatever you want to call it, this fear that some members of the media had sometimes that they would be perceived as helping Trump if they somehow diminished Biden, right? That it was some sort of zero-sum game,' Todd told Piers Morgan. 'And I think this has been the fundamental mistake that many members of the traditional press have done.' Chuck Todd Joins Journalist-Creator Platform Noosphere, Will Host Interview Show

Former Meet the Press host Chuck Todd is getting back into the Sunday interview show game — albeit on a nontraditional platform. Todd is set to launch a show called Sunday Night With Chuck Todd on Noosphere, a platform that showcases individual journalists' work. The show will be the first regular series for Noosphere, available to stream through its app when the show premieres in June. 'I could not be more excited about launching a new show with real conversations, in person, that cut through so much noise and loud opinion at a moment when it's needed the most,' said Todd in a statement. 'The show offers us a chance to break out of both network studios and home-based Zoom calls, to where we can see people face to face in normal environments, and come to learn from one another what's really happening in Washington, D.C. at this crucial time.' Yvette Vega, a multiple Emmy winner for PBS' Charlie Rose, will executive produce Todd's show. Todd left NBC News in January and has dove headfirst into the creator economy, streaming his podcast on YouTube and other platforms and now joining Noosphere. 'I've been trying to figure out where can I go to sort of get into this space of trying to build a better [news] ecosystem, whether it's rebuilding it or building it from scratch,' he told The Hollywood Reporter in April. 'So for the last year and a half, I've been looking at different avenues.' Todd also told THR that he's looking for a way to stem the 'evisceration' of local news outlets, with sports as an entry point: 'My thesis is I think that youth sports and high school sports are community glue, and I think there is a way to use that community glue to create a revenue stream that can pay for the journalism.' Noosphere launched last year, founded by veteran journalists Jane Ferguson and Sebastian Walker. The subscription-based platform is designed to showcase the work of individual journalists and lets users follow their favorite contributors and gain access to their reporting. 'We are thrilled to welcome Todd to the platform,' said Ferguson. 'This reflects our commitment to the best political reporting and content from some of the most respected and beloved journalists and experts out there.' Chuck Todd warns Buttigieg could be 'toxic' in 2028 due to Biden ties

Former NBC News host Chuck Todd suggested Wednesday that former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg could potentially be a "toxic" Democratic presidential candidate in 2028 due to his ties to former President Biden, amid numerous revelations about Biden's decline while in office. "So, in many ways, I think this Biden book is only going to, not just undermine Biden, but I think make it toxic for anybody that worked for Biden, because then it becomes, where were you? How did you participate in the cover-up?" Todd said on his podcast. "Pete Buttigieg, this may mean something for you," Todd added. "Are you going to now tell us, 'Yeah, I didn't have much interaction with him.' Well, then, why didn't you say something?" Buttigieg headlined a town hall in Iowa this week, sparking speculation about his 2028 plans. However, the former Biden cabinet official claimed he wasn't running for anything as of now. Todd revealed a former Biden cabinet secretary told him that they had no interaction with Biden and wondered why. "I think it's a question anybody who worked directly for Biden, so [Biden Secretary of Commerce] Gina Raimondo, if she thinks about running for president, Pete Buttigieg, all of these cabinet secretaries are now going to have to answer for all of this," the former "Meet the Press" host said. "And I do wonder if it's going to make anybody that touches Biden persona non grata." Todd bluntly asserted that anyone who worked for Biden, in addition to Biden himself, is "directly responsible" for anything Trump does in his second term. "They're contributors to the place we are at, so they better hope it's a successful second term for Trump, because they will own a piece of that failure, too, and the recovery for America from its economic- what could be an economic disaster," he said. Buttigieg did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital. "If you're not happy with any part of this second term, and you're angry, some of that anger belongs to the Bidens, and some of that anger belongs to the people who had no guts to speak out when it mattered and waited until talking to an author of a book," Todd concluded. Todd has been critical of the Democratic Party amid more revelations about Biden's decline that have been reported through multiple books on the 2024 campaign. Todd called out Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., immediately after the senator dodged a question on CNN Tuesday about what he knew about Biden's decline. "He is among the people that are responsible for this. The leaders of the Democratic Party, the staff of the White House," Todd said about Schumer. "And I have to say, I find everybody now talking to these authors – get outta here. Go home. You're part of the problem. Now you tell us."
