BJP releases chargesheet on failures of Cong govt

Mangaluru: The BJP on Wednesday released a chargesheet highlighting what it called the failures of the Congress-led Karnataka govt. Addressing reporters after its release, Udupi-Chikmagaluru MP Kota Shrinivasa Poojary alleged that the state govt failed on all fronts and was running purely on propaganda and false promises. He accused the administration of being entangled in multiple scams, including the Muda scam, Valmiki Corporation scam, and alleged misuse of funds meant for Dalit welfare. Poojary also cited issues such as injustice to farmers, rising milk prices, and the deaths of lactating women. He alleged that land belonging to farmers was being encroached upon in the name of waqf properties. Slamming the Congress for making baseless allegations against the Centre, Poojary lashed out at labour minister Santhosh Lad, stating that the minister is more focused on Prime Minister Modi's attire than labour welfare. He further claimed that rural infrastructure was neglected, with PWD, fisheries, and panchayat roads not receiving maintenance funds for the past two years. Pothole-ridden roads are now a common sight across the state. He also criticised the poor implementation of the Centre's Jal Jeevan Mission in Karnataka. Poojary alleged that key farmer welfare schemes, such as the additional Rs 4,000 under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, were discontinued after the Congress came to power. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Entrevista exclusiva: a verdade sobre o magnésio que ninguém te contou AlwaysFit Undo He also accused the govt of diverting SC/ST welfare funds to finance its guarantee schemes. The Congress govt is directly responsible for the injustice to the SC/ST communities, he said. Poojary lashes out at Kharge The MP took objection to AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge's reference to the "Chut-Put War" remark and "Namma Pakistan" during the Sadhana Samavesha. He questioned the chief minister's silence on controversial remarks made by MLA Kothur Manjunath about military actions. "Congress is quick to allege security lapses in the Pahalgam incident. Will they make the same claims about the assassinations of former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, or the Mumbai terror attacks?" he asked. Poojary alleged that the govt was trying to silence the opposition by filing FIRs against those who question the govt, with reference to the cases filed against Dr Arun Ullal, Puneet Kerehalli, Chakravarthi Sulibele, MLA Harish Poonja and others. When asked about the rowdy-sheet case booked against Suhas Shetty during Kota's tenure as Dakshina Kannada district minister, he clarified that such files never reach the minister's desk. To a query on Madhya Pradesh minister's comments against Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, he said, "The BJP has always stood by the armed forces and nationalism. We will not speak against the military. The party will take appropriate action."
