Limerick v Kildare LIVE score updates and more from Tailteann Cup final
Limerick take on Kildare this afternoon in the final of the 2025 Tailteann Cup. Having started the year in Division Four, Limerick have caused quite an upset in reaching the final, and in doing so they have shown once again that the standard in the bottom tier is improving all the time. Kildare will be favourites this afternoon and the Lilywhites truly see themselves as an All-Ireland team. However, results don't lie and after some barren times, they will be desperate to pick up some silverware and end the year on a high. Today's game throws in at 2.30pm. Kildare: Cian Burke; Harry O'Neill, Ryan Burke, Brian Byrne; Tommy Gill, David Hyland, James McGrath; Kevin Feely (Captain), Brendan Gibbons; Colm Dalton, Alex Beirne, Callum Bolton; Ryan Sinkey, Darragh Kirwan, Daniel Flynn Subs: Didier Cordonnier, Jack McKevitt, Mark Dempsey, Mick O'Grady, Kevin Flynn, Aaron Masterson, Rian Teahan, Darragh Swords, Brian McLoughlin, Niall Kelly, Eoin Cully Limerick: Josh Ryan; Jason Hassett, Darren O'Doherty, Mark McCarthy; Killian Ryan, Iain Corbett, Tony McCarthy; Tommie Childs, Darragh O'Hagan, Paul Maher, Cillian Fahy (Captain), Danny Neville; Emmet Rigter, James Naughton, Peter Nash Subs: Jeffrey Alfred, Cormac Woulfe, Tadgh O'Siochru. Conall O'Duinn, Barry Coleman, Sean Clancy. Diarmuid Buckley, Darragh Murray, Rory O'Brien, Andrew Meade, Rob Childs The inclusion of Limerick in this final, along with Laois last year, clearly debunks the idea of a third tier competition to allow Division Four counties to claim trophies. It's evident that they can compete at this level, and considering the teams they've defeated to reach this point, a victory for Limerick today wouldn't exactly be a huge surprise. However, they are the underdogs, with the pressure resting on Kildare, despite their somewhat inconsistent performance leading up to this stage. Their track record at Croke Park is less than stellar, and these finals often produce unexpected results, but Kildare should pull through. We'll have live updates from Croker throughout the afternoon.

Good afternoon and welcome to our live blog for this Leinster Senior Football Championship semi-final clash between Kildare and Louth. It's another busy day of GAA action across both football and hurling, with games taking place across the Leinster and Ulster football championships and the Leinster and Munster hurling championships. Dublin have won the Leinster title for the past 14 years and are expected to do so once again this season. But there's much more than a final spot against the winners of the Dubs and Meath on the line here as the losers will play in the Tailteann Cup, while the victors will take the last spot in the All-Ireland. Louth are aiming to reach the Leinster decider for a third year in a row for the first time since 1914, while the Lilywhites last played in a provincial final in 2022. Just under 40 minutes to go until throw-in!
