Ex-Ireland footballer shares free Oasis ticket hack after meeting Liam Gallagher
Former Republic of Ireland footballer Cillian Sheridan has revealed his brilliant Oasis ticket trick after claiming he successfully secured one for one of the band's gigs at Murrayfield in Scotland. The ex-Hoops forward, who currently turns out for Scottish Highland League side Brechin City, has revealed how he took a punt when he randomly encountered Liam Gallagher following a round of golf. The Cavan native bumped into the legendary Oasis frontman in the car park of Gleneagles Hotel, where the Rock 'n' Roll icon was residing during his Scottish visit. Rather than requesting a snap with the music legend, Sheridan had different plans and there was only one thing occupying his thoughts. Revealing his Masterplan on X, he posted: "Here's my hack to Oasis tickets. Go for a round of golf in the morning, on your way back to your car bump into Liam Gallagher at his hotel. Here's the important bit. DON'T ask for a photo, instead chance your arm and ask for a ticket! Not how I thought my day would pan out! Legend!" Sheridan managed to slip in at the eleventh hour and claims he caught one of the Edinburgh performances of the Oasis Live 25 tour, reports the Daily Record. Massive anthems including Don't Look Back in Anger, Roll With It and Champagne Supernova had their first airing since 2009, as devotees of all ages celebrated in the capital. And Sheridan can consider himself amongst the fortunate few who managed to secure those precious tickets. He posted a photograph from within the Scottish rugby headquarters which displayed his remarkable view of the stage as Noel Gallagher performed a track. Oasis played three gigs in the Scottish capital ahead of this weekend's shows in Dublin. They play Croke Park on Saturday and Sunday, with tickets for both nights selling out in less than a day. It will be Oasis' first time playing in Ireland since 2008 and the sun is set to shine down on concertgoers at GAA Headquarters. Highs of up to 25 degrees and beyond are forecast every day between Thursday and next Monday, August 18.

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) EVERY one of the 200,000 Scots who were lucky enough to attend one of the Oasis comeback gigs in Edinburgh this summer will have their own story as to how they got their hands on tickets. Some fought through tooth and nail when the general sale went live. Others rushed to the pre-sale. Plenty paid hundreds of pounds for second-hand briefs. Cillian Sheridan's footie career has taken him all around the world... and he's now here to spread the word on how he blagged a brief completely scot-free. The 36-year-old started his pro career in Glasgow's east end but has since played in Bulgaria, Cyprus, Poland, Australia and Israel. In addition to the Hoops, he has starred in Scotland for Motherwell, St Johnstone, Kilmarnock, Dundee, Inverness and Queen's Park and is currently at Brechin City. Now as a part-time footballer, Sheridan was able to slide away during the week to attend the legendary Manchester group's third and final comeback concert at Murrayfield Stadium. The capital venue hosted around 70,000 fans each night, including two former Celtic heroes in Neil Lennon and Simon Donnelly. Joining them was Sheridan - but his route to the capital was rather different. He revealed that he met frontman Liam Gallagher at his hotel after playing a round of golf. Sheridan teed it up at the famous Gleneagles and on the way back to his car after his round, he bumped into the singer - and crucially he DIDN'T ask for a photo. He said: "Here's my hack to Oasis tickets. Sheridan included the words alongside a picture of his view at the gig, revelling with the other fans in the Scottish sunshine. Given Sheridan's heritage, one fan posited one theory as to how he ended up with a free ticket. Can Hibs overcome callow Partizan?
Hibs' Conference League opponents Partizan Belgrade may have skelped Ukrainians Oleksandria 6-0 in the previous round, but the Serbian giants are not the force of old, says well-travelled striker Cillian last of Partizan's 27 domestic titles came in 2017 and the former European Cup finalists have failed to progress beyond qualifying of continental competition in the past two Hibs, they have dropped down from the Europa League this season following a penalty shootout defeat to AEK Larnaca of to the BBC's Scottish football podcast before tonight's first leg in Belgrade, Sheridan said: "People are maybe going by Partizan's previous reputation, but I don't think they're the team they used to be."I know they've had a lot of financial problems and a transfer ban. I know they're a very young squad."I was talking to my friend who played them in the previous round for AEK Larnaca and he was saying in possession they're a very good team, very young, but they probably will give up chances."I actually fancy Hibs to go through more than not."

Rodgers 'won't let up' in pursuit of players, says Sheridan
Former Celtic striker Cillian Sheridan says Brendan Rodgers "won't let up" in his pursuit of new signings. So far this window Celtic have brought Kieran Tierney back to the club following the expiration of his Arsenal contract while goalkeeper Ross Doohan and forward Callum Osmand have also signed on free deals. Hayato Inamura, Shin Yamada and Benjamin Nygren take the number of new signings up to six so far. However, Rodgers' side already lost Kyogo Furuhashi in the January window and winger Nicolas Kuhn followed suit this summer, departing for Serie A side Sheridan thinks Rodgers will still feel there's more work to be done to his team. "I think last season probably proved Rodgers' case where if you do back him, he is showing an improvement in Europe," he told the BBC's Scottish Football Podcast. "Take away the Borussia Dortmund game, they were a lot more competitive in the European games. I think everyone could see there was a real improvement. "I don't think Brendan Rogers is the type to just be happy with that. He'll want to make an improvement and keep building and keep improving. "I think he's shown he's not afraid to have a of a slight pop at the board in terms of the players they're bringing or how much they're backing him. I don't think he'll back down on that either. "He's got his own standards and his own expectations on what he wants to do with the club, especially in Europe. So I can't see him letting up in terms of his demand for getting the supply of players that he needs."
